Air Force jets hit a terrorist cell planning to fire rockets at Israel from the central Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said. A direct hit had been carried out. According to Gaza sources, three terrorists were killed while riding a car and one was seriously injured.
The IDF said that the cell had been involved in previous rocket attacks.
The Palestinians said that the cell had been hit near the border. The wounded were rushed to a local hospital via ambulances.
Israel considers Hamas responsible for the continued rocket fire
In the past few months, residents of Israel’s southern communities have suffered repeated rocket barrages.
Last month, two rockets fired at Sderot hit two factories but caused no injuries. Dozens of rockets were fired at the Eshkol Regional Council that same night in response to the killing of a Gaza terrorist who planned a terror attack.
Also in August, rocket parts were also discovered in Eilat, however no hits were traced.
