Al Jazeera accused of running jihad from Jerusalem

Dr. Mordechai Kedar, who served in IDF Military Intelligence for 25 years specializing in Arab political discourse, says Israel’s decision to close Al Jazeera’s offices is long overdue, since propaganda network favors Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Communications Minister Ayoub Kara (Likud) has begun the process of shutting down the Al Jazeera offices in Jerusalem over the network’s support for radical Islamist groups.

Arutz Sheva spoke about the network’s closure with those were interviewed several times by Al Jazeera, including Arabic culture expert Dr. Mordechai Kedar.

Sunday’s rocket attack on northern Israel was claimed by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC), Kol Yisrael radio reported Sunday night, citing Lebanese media.

The reports were based on comments by Lebanese security officials who said that the rockets used in the attack were transferred to a nearby Palestinian “refugee camp” and were fired at Israel after Palestinian organizations threatened to respond to the assassination of Hezbollah terrorist Samir Kuntar in Syria, which was blamed on Israel.

But at least one expert has said that the unity pact will work in Israel’s favor: Arutz Sheva columnist Dr. Mordechai Kedar, an expert on the Israeli-Arab sector, and an Arabic literature professor at Bar-Ilan University.

In an exclusive Arutz Sheva interview, Middle East expert Dr. Mordechai Kedar, of Bar-Ilan University’s BESA Center (Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies), dismissed calls for the establishment of a Palestinian Authority state in Judea and Samaria, saying that the number of Israelis who still believe in the “Two-State Solution” can “fit in two telephone booths“.
