Khameini aide says Iran’s backing Assad to avert collapse of anti-Zionist front

Iranian official says rebel leader’s vow to establish relations with Israel & the US, justifies Iran’s involvement.

 

The main reason behind Iran’s support for Syrian President Bashar Assad is to prevent the collapse of the rejectionist front against Israel, a senior aide to the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Religious Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in a television interview that was broadcast on Sunday.

US Report: ‘Israel using Eritrean bases to spy on Iran’

Report by US-based firm: Israel using ‘small but significant presence’ in northeastern African nation in an effort to boost intel gathering on Iran

Israel is trying to increase its intelligence gathering efforts vis-à-vis Iran and is now using Eritrea to that effect, a new report by Stratfor Global Intelligence said Tuesday.

Iran: ‘War with Israel will eventually happen’

Revolutionary Guard’s Chief Jafari says both countries will see military conflict in the future but stresses ‘it is not clear when or where’ war will take place

A war between Iran and Israel “will eventually happen,” Revolutionary Guards commander General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Saturday.

“Israel seeks war with us, but it’s not clear when the war will occur,” Jafari was quoted by the ISNA and Fars agencies as saying. “Right now they see war as the only method of confrontation,” he said.

Jafari further expressed confidence that the Islamic Republic “will destroy the Jewish state… This cancerous tumor Israel seeks to launch a war against us, but we do not know when it will happen. Continue Reading »
