Iran warns of “disastrous consequences” should Israel be in the Strait of Hormuz

Following a report on Tuesday by Israel’s Foreign Minister announcing IDFs involvement in the US-led naval operation to neutralize the “Iranian threat” in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s Defense Ministry warned of “disastrous consequences” should it be true.

Iran’s Defense Ministry warned on Thursday that any Israeli involvement in a US-led naval operation into the Strait of Hormuz would have “disastrous consequences” for the region.

The warning comes as Washington ramps up pressure on the Islamic Republic following a string of incidents that have stirred tensions in the Gulf, including Tehran’s capture of a UK oil tanker last month and the downing of US drone over the Strait of Hormuz earlier in the summer. Continue Reading »

Report: Iran tests advanced torpedo provoking Washington

 

US news outlets report the Iranian Navy tested an advanced submarine launched torpedo in the Strait of Hormuz, considered to be one of the world’s most strategically important shipping corridors.

US news sources reported Monday evening that Iran tested an advanced torpedo missile near the Strait of Hormuz.

Senior officials in the American security infrastructure told Fox News and NBC that the experiment was conducted within Iran’s maritime border and did not violate international law, but noted that it is considered to be another Iranian provocation following the increasing tensions between the states since President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
