U.S. paratroopers and IDF’s Egoz in week long training in Israel

 

In a week-long training exercise held in Israel this week, 173 American paratroopers & hundreds of IDF soldiers from the elite Egoz unit participated in joint invasion drills & getting to know one another.

This week marked the end of a large scale joint infantry training exercise between the IDF and US military: The Israeli participants included hundreds of warriors from the Egoz guerilla warfare unit in the Golani Brigade, while the Americans sent 173 paratroops from the US European Command.

IDF troops complete training with Americans on V-22 Osprey

 

Joint military exercise of IDF infantry units & U.S. Marines ended Thursday. 

Israeli Air Force trained on the Osprey, that lifts off & lands  like a helicopter but transforms mid-flight into a high-speed turboprop aircraft. The IAF is planned to begin taking delivery in 2016 of the 6 purchased aircraft.

Pentagon Chief gives IDF Chief their Legion of Merit award

U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman honors Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz with the Legion of Merit award after his 5 day work-visit.

Gantz humbly accepts award on behalf of entire IDF, says it represents the strong ties between the Israeli & American Armed Forces.

The United States gave Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz the Legion of Merit award on Tuesday. Gantz is currently in the U.S. on a five-day work visit.
