More than one thousand United States Marines and Israeli paratroopers have recently been training in Israel’s southern region’s Tze’elim base, as part of the massive joint 2018 Juniper Cobra exercise held this month.

500 IDF Special Forces commandos participate in extensive military drill in Cyprus

 

WATCH: The first of its kind and one of the largest exercises by Israeli commandos held on foreign territory, it involved close to 500 combat soldiers from the Egoz special forces unit as well as 3 Super Hercules transport planes and 10 Black Hawk helicopters.

Israeli commandos wrapped up a large scale drill in Cyprus on Thursday, returning to Israel after an intensive three-day drill on the island nation.

Russia invites IDF to participate in International Army Games competition

 

IDF delegations in the fields of military medicine and logistics will be sent to Russia to compete against the military forces of 27 other countries in the annual International Army Games.

For the first time, the IDF has been invited to participate in the International Army Games against 27 other countries, including the Syrian Army.In the past three years, the Russians have been conducting an annual “military Olympics” in which various armies from the world compete in professional fields such as armor, paratroopers, military police, medicine, and more. IDF joins US European Command in joint missile defense exercise

The joint exercise, known as Juniper Cobra, has taken place every two years since 2001. Its primary purpose is to enhance interoperability between the two militaries and improve joint defensive capabilities. U.S. paratroopers and IDF’s Egoz in week long training in Israel

 

In a week-long training exercise held in Israel this week, 173 American paratroopers & hundreds of IDF soldiers from the elite Egoz unit participated in joint invasion drills & getting to know one another.

This week marked the end of a large scale joint infantry training exercise between the IDF and US military: The Israeli participants included hundreds of warriors from the Egoz guerilla warfare unit in the Golani Brigade, while the Americans sent 173 paratroops from the US European Command.

IDF: Israel Will Evacuate a Million Lebanese to ‘Unsheild’ Hezbollah in Event of War

IDF source says new strategy made to undermine Shiite terror group’s ability to exploit Lebanese civilians as human shields.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would evacuate over a million civilians from southern Lebanon should a new war with Hezbollah erupt, the Jerusalem Post reported Thursday, citing a senior military source.

In the event of large-scale Hezbollah rocket and missile attacks on Israeli, the IDF would proceed with mass evacuations within 24 hours before conducting aerial strikes and a ground offensive, the source said.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Israel would use this new strategy to counter the Shiite Islamist group’s battle doctrine of using civilian areas as military bases. Continue Reading »

Iran, Hezbollah worried over IDF movements during annual nation-wide safety exercise

Israeli forces, including heavy artillery, have been massing along the Lebanese border, yet the sole purpose of the buildup is participation in a military drill, Israeli officials said on Sunday after Iran and its Lebanon proxy Hezbollah reportedly showed unease over the maneuvers.

 The Ynet website reported that the Islamic Republic is worried that Israel might use the lack of stability in Syria and Lebanon to somehow jeopardize the planned signature of a nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

IDF’s Annual Home Front Nationwide Drill to Test Israel’s Catastrophic Readiness

National exercise will simulate multiple missile fire on cities, damage to strategic military sites, large-scale terrorist attacks, & other possible scenarios in a future war against Hezbollah and/or Hamas.

The annual Home Front Command military exercise will commence next Sunday, simulating a number of war scenarios, after a hiatus last year caused by Operation Protective Edge.

The exercise is scheduled to continue until next Thursday, and will focus this year on two scenarios that could occur in another conflict: a multi-front war, meaning simultaneous missile and rocket barrages from southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, as well as damage to essential strategic sites such as seaports and airports, power stations, and water facilities.

Israel, Greece & U.S. Hold Joint Naval Exercise in Mediterranean

The trilateral exercise, from April 27 until May 14, will include from Israel, dolphin class submarines, Sa’ar missile ships and a naval helicopter.

The Israel Navy took part in a trilateral exercise with the US and Greek navies this week.

The exercise, the largest of its kind, dubbed Noble Dina, involved air-sea maneuvers and the use of a variety of naval vessels. It began on April 27 and will reach its conclusion on May 14, the IDF Spokesman’s Office said.

Three Israeli missile ships – the INS Lahav, a Sa’ar-class ship, and the INS Keshet and the INS Romah, both Sa’ar-4.5 class missile ships – took part. Continue Reading »

IDF Hummer overturns in Galilee- driver injured

 

Investigation launched after driver loses control of field vehicle during training exercise; sources say she was driving longer hours than IDF protocol permits.

Following a Monday incident in which a Hummer driver sustained light injuries as the Hummer she was driving overturned, anonymous sources told Ynet that the driver was behind the wheel for a longer period of time than IDF protocol permits. The IDF said an investigation into the circumstances was launched.

During the training session, Hummer drivers were starting drills at nighttime and were supposed to sleep during the afternoon and evening for five days. Continue Reading »

Greece & Israel Conduct Joint Military Exercise

The Greek Air Force & the Israeli Air Force recently concluded a 2-day exercise in Greece.

The joint Israel-Greek exercise took place as ‘Austere Challenge 12’, the IDF’s joint exercise with the U.S. Army, got underway.

The Israeli Air Force and the Greek Air Force recently concluded a two-day joint exercise on Greek soil, Channel 2 News reported on Monday.

According to the report, the Greek Air Force said that, as part of the exercise, F16i fighter pilots from both armies practiced dogfights, bomb raids and long term aerial refueling.
