Mysterious WhatsApp message warns Beirut residents of weapon caches

Lebanese newspaper attributes to Israel how thousands of residents from the Dahieh suburb of Beirut received WhatsApp messages on their mobile phones, warning them that the Iranian proxy, Hezbollah, has weapons storage facilities in their area, suggesting residents ‘proceed with caution’.

Thousands of residents of the Dahieh suburb south of Beirut, an area controlled by Hezbollah, received anonymous mobile phone notifications warning them they live in close proximity to a weapons storage compound that has the potential of exploding at any moment, the Asharq al-Awsat newspaper reported on Wednesday, implying Israel is responsible for incident.

Report: Israeli teens unequaled in use of technology

Despite being consumed by technology with about 90% of those between 13-18 that use WhatsApp, the report also finds the number of teenagers who  volunteer for community projects on a regular basis climbed from 17.8% in 2004 to 46.4% in 2011.

Israeli media publish transcript of raucous Whatsapp group, that includes Knesset members from all across Israel’s political spectrum.

Think Whatsapp is only something you use with families or amongst groups of friends? Not in Israel, where Whatsapp has become something of a raucous digital town hall. Case in point, Israel’s Channel 2 News reported on a Whatsapp group that includes a large number of Israeli Knesset members from across the political spectrum.

The group includes Ofir Akunis (Likud), Miri Regev (Likud), Moshe Feiglin (Likud), Arab Knesset member Ahmed Tibi, Itzik Shmueli (Labor), Eitan Cabel (Labor), Miki Rosenthal (Labor), Boaz Toporovsky (Yesh Atid), Karin Elharar (Yesh Atid), Alex Miller (Yisrael Beiteinu), Danny Dayan (Jewish Home), Tamar Sandberg (Meretz) and many others.

Tehran outlaws Israel’s WhatsApp, claims Facebook’s Zuckerberg is ‘American Zionist’

 

US Commission on Int’l Religious Freedom blasts Iran for its anti-Semitism & “targeting members of the Jewish community.”

 

 

Iran’s Committee on Internet Crimes has banned WhatsApp, the cross-platform instant messaging subscription service for smartphones  that American hi-tech tycoon Mark Zuckerberg recently acquired.

“The reason for this is the assumption of WhatsApp by the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who is an American Zionist,” Abdolsamad Khorramabadi, head of the committee, said, Fox News reported on Friday.

Meanwhile, the US Commission on International Religious Freedom blasted the Islamic Republic last week in a report on the repression of religious freedom, Fox News reported.
