Israel passes law allowing PM & Defense Minister to declare war

As Israel’s Knesset begins its summer session, propose law spearheaded by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Avi Dichter passes, 62 MKs to 41, permitting only the PM & DM to give green light in declaration of war.
• Justice Minister Shaked, “We must adapt ourselves to the present state security requirements.”
• Joint List MK Aida Touma-Suleiman, “The bill will enable two people to take not only the State of Israel into war, but all the countries in the region.”

New scholarship for discharged Golan Druze soldiers

The scholarship will demonstrate to the young people of the Golan Heights that they are welcomed citizens of Israel & the scholarship is a very good way to bring together the Golan Druze community & Israel.

 

 

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) along with Sayeret Matkal (General Staff Reconnaissance Unit) led by former minister Avi Dichter, established a new scholarship program on Sunday for army and national service graduates of the Druze community in commemoration of Sayeret Matkal Major Salim Shufi.

EU’s designation of Hezbollah would disrupt its financing of terror

Israel’s Homefront Defense Minister Avi Dichter is in Paris to suggest designation of Hezbollah as terrorist group: “Europe, that’s the real base of Hezbollah. … If they won’t be able to gather money … in Europe, they are going to be in trouble.”

A decision by the European Union to blacklist Hezbollah would interrupt the group’s financing because much of the money it uses to fund terrorist operations comes from European capitals, Homefront Defense Minister Avi Dichter said on Tuesday.
