UK Labor MPs Rebel Against Dictated ‘Palestine’ Vote

Opposition MPs are ‘furious’ for being directed to vote for recognition of Palestinian state, admitting it makes ‘peace’ process more difficult.

The UK is anticipated to pass a non-binding vote on Monday recognizing “Palestine,” but members of the Labor party which proposed the move are reportedly holding an internal revolt against the forced vote.

Britain’s largest union adopts 2 boycott Israel resolutions, despite Labor’s calls to reject

The trade union, which claims a national membership of about 1.3 million, easily passed 2 pro-Palestinian resolutions.

LONDON – UNITE, Britain’s largest Trades Union – which last week confirmed it will be financially backing Labor Party leader Ed Miliband’s bid for the premiership next May – has defied his recent call to not support the Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment campaign against Israel.

UK Labor leader Ed Miliband arrived in Israel early Thursday for a three-day tour. On the same day he devoted an hour to answering wide-ranging questions from students and guests at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

The session was friendly and informal, with the British opposition leader answering questions about his football preferences – a “long-suffering Leeds United fan” – and asking for details about felafel joints in London.
