Phinergy’s fully electric vehicle doesn’t need charging, just water & air

WATCH: Phinergy’s  Metal Air energy systems, based on technology originating at Bar Ilan University in Israel, significantly increases the driving range of current electric vehicles… and with zero emission.

 

Phinergy is an Israeli start-up company specializing in hybrid lithium-ion and aluminum-air/zinc-air battery systems for electric vehicles.

The company was founded in 2008 by Aviv Tzidon, who also acts as the CEO of the company, based on technology originating at Bar Ilan University.

Phinergy has patented a “nano-porous silver-based catalyst”, which allows oxygen into the electrode and the cell while at the same time blocking carbon dioxide.

The company claims that this invention enables its battery cathode to sustain more than 25,000 working hours, while significantly reducing weight. Continue Reading »

Phinergy drives their car by metal, air, and water, with the developers wanting the cost of their aluminum-air batteries to have a price equal to or less than gas, with their ultimate goal of being 100% petroleum free and with zero emission.

Israel still trying green transport, seeking to cut fossil fuel use by 60%

 

Since all of Israel is smaller than New Jersey, the Jewish State is a particularly good market for electric vehicles.

After losing NIS 3B, Better Place sold for NIS 43 million

About 6 years after Shai Agassi founded Better Place, the electric car company sold to Sunrise Ltd. & Association for the Promotion of the Electric Car in Israel

New owners promises to continue operation of battery-swapping stations for at least 2 years.

Sunrise Ltd. and the Association for the Promotion of the Electric Car in Israel purchased all the operations and assets of the Better Place electric car company in Israel for 18 million shekels (about $5 million) after the Lod District Court confirmed the purchase agreement of the bankrupt company on Wednesday.
