After too long a dry season rain begins to fall in Israel

With one of Israel’s driest winters on record nearing its end, light rain began to fall in various parts of the country on Sunday.

As of 5 p.m. a wide band of rain stretched from north of the Sea of Galilee to the southern Negev.

Israel sends Hamas fuel for Gaza power plant

 

 

As cold weather & flooding takes its toll on Gaza, Hamas & Fatah come to agreement for Israel to begin transferring fuel to the only power plant in Hamas-ruled Strip after a 50-day shutdown.

Israel began transferring fuel to the Gaza Strip’s sole power plant Sunday, a Palestinian official said, as the Hamas-ruled enclave struggled to deal with massive flooding caused by winter downpours.

Poor Driving causes massive damage to Chief of Staff’s car

The Military Police have launched an investigation into a driving blunder that has resulted in massive damage to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz‘s security detail’s vehicle.

GantzThe Toyota Land Cruiser reportedly sustained damage estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels to its chassis and on-board security systems after the driver attempted to cross a flooded road and failed. No one was hurt in the incident.

The Military Police’s investigation is standard procedure for cases where damages to IDF equipment exceed NIS 5,000 (roughly $1350). Continue Reading »
