The IDF set out to capture Ahmed Jabari alive to use him as a bargaining chip in exchange for captive soldier Gilad Schalit, but Jabari’s car changed direction & escaped the IDF’s ambush.

In 2008, the Israel Defense Forces attempted to kidnap then head of Hamas’ military wing, Ahmed Jabari, to use him as a bargaining chip for captive Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit, the Walla news web site reported on Thursday.

The IDF later killed Jabari in a pinpoint attack in 2012, about a year after Hamas released Schalit in exchange for over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Record Breaking ‘Children’s Aliyah Flight’ Will Arrive Monday

Gilad Schalit will chaperone the Nefesh b’Nefesh flight of a record-breaking 106 children in 41 families.

North American aliyah organization Nefesh B’Nefesh is set to break a record Monday with an historic “children’s aliyah flight” that is to carry 106 children, in 41 families, to start new lives in Israel. All in all, the flight will carry 231 new olim (Jews returning to Israel) from North America.

Hamas Would-Be Kidnapping Terrorist Nabbed by Israel Security

A Hamas terrorist who was preparing to carry out terror attacks was arrested. Under questioning, it was learned that his handler was a terrorist released in the Gilad Shalit deal. That violation makes him a target now.

Israeli security personnel announced Monday that they had arrested Bachar Attalah Samiach Sa’ad, a Hamas terrorists who planned several terror attacks against Israelis. Sa’ad was arrested in a joint action by the Shabak, Israel Police and IDF.

Sa’ad, a resident of a village near Ramallah, planned to kidnap an IDF soldier, amid a shooting attack he planned. His handler was Hasham Abed Alkhader Ibrahim Hajaz, a Hamas terrorist who was deported from Israel after he was released from an Israeli prison in the deal to free kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
