The United States objected on Friday to a French court’s planned release of a Lebanese leftist militant, saying he may still be a threat a quarter century after he was convicted of killing an American and an Israeli diplomat.

Britain and France on Monday weighed measures against Israel to protest at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s decision to expand settlement building after the United Nations’ de facto recognition of Palestinian statehood.

Sky News reported that the suspension of trade agreements with the Jewish state is also among the sanctions under consideration in the UK

Israeli technology to secure France’s Louvre

France-based Synel technology to install comprehensive security system in world’s most visited art museum in effort to prevent burglary

With the help of Israeli technology, the Louvre Museum in Paris will stay secure. Synel, an Israeli subsidiary company based in France has just been awarded a large contract at the Louvre Museum.

As part of the major project, Synel France was contracted to install a comprehensive system for security access control combined with electronic attendance. The deal is estimated to reach millions of shekels within several years.

The project, which is set to boost the museum’s security, will further entail the installation of Synel’s time and attendance management hardware, as well as the use of fingerprint verification, keypad entry, magnetic card, barcode card, proximity card, contactless smart card and facial recognition. After 4 months, largest UAV remains grounded

Officials fear prolonged grounding could scuttle sales to France of Heron TP, dubbed the drone “that can reach Iran.”

The Heron TP, Israel’s most advanced unmanned aerial vehicle, remains grounded almost four months after one crashed during a test flight near the Tel Nof air base outside Rehovot.Two panels set up independently by the Israel Air Force and Israel Aerospace Industries, the drone’s manufacturer, are still investigating the cause of the crash and there is concern that the continued grounding will affect a possible sale of the Heron TP to France.
