Israeli Arab finishes victorious in TV reality cooking program ‘Master Chef’

 

‘Master Chef’ winner Nof Atamna-Ismaeel, says she’ll use TV show’s prize money to open Arab-Jewish cooking school.

Nof Atamna-Ismaeel won the fourth season of Israeli reality cooking show “Master Chef” on Saturday night.

Atamna-Ismaeel, 32,,  from the Israeli Arab town Baqa al-Gharbiyyewho cooks Arab food with a modern twist. She has a PhD in microbiolog and is  married with three kids.

Upon winning, Atamna-Ismaeel said it was “the most exciting moment in her life,” and said she plans on using the prize money to open an Arab-Jewish cooking school.

Israel sentences Arab-Israeli to jail for joining Syrian rebels

Massarwa acknowledges to illegally traveling to hostile state and meeting with what prosecutors described as a “foreign agent”.

JERUSALEM – Israel sentenced an Arab citizen to 30 months’ imprisonment on Monday for endangering national security by briefly joining Syrian rebels fighting to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Massarwa was arrested on March 19 upon returning via Turkey from Syria, where he had spent a week at a rebel base. Israeli prosecutors accused him of undergoing small-arms training by radical Islamists there who asked him to carry out a suicide attack in Israel – although, by all accounts, he declined.

Israeli Court rejects Israeli Arab suit over airport ‘profiling’

Nazareth District Court Judge explains that only Supreme Court justices are privy to materials relating to secret security checks & suggests that the plaintiffs each file a personal lawsuits rather than seeking to represent entire Arab sector.

 

The Nazareth District Court last week rejected a request from three Israeli Arabs pursuing a billion-shekel class-action suit to seek compensation for humiliating inspections at Ben Gurion International Airport.
