Israel partners with Google to promote ‘Made in Israel’ purchases

The gov’t’s ShoppingIL initiative is to encourage online purchases of manufactured products bearing the “Made in Israel” label at discounted prices during the month of November.

The Economy and Industry Ministry is working to promote the online purchase of products manufactured in Israel in November when shoppers take advantage of special deals on Thanksgiving, as well as online shopping holidays like Cyber Monday and China’s Singles Day.

In light of the success of last year’s effort, the ministry’s Blue and White Headquarters will once again join forces with Google Israel to set up a dedicated manufacturers’ complex for products to receive the “Made in Israel” label. Continue Reading »

Canadian Gov’t appeals Federal court ruling on ‘settlement’ wines

The Government of Canada announced intention to appeal a court ruling that wine produced by Jews in Judea and Samaria cannot be labeled as ‘Made in Israel’.

Jewish groups in Canada on Friday welcomed an announcement by the Government of Canada that it will appeal a court ruling that wine originating from Judea and Samaria cannot be labeled as products made in Israel.

In July, Canada’s Federal Court ruled that it was “false, misleading and deceptive” to label wines made in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria as a “Product of Israel.”

The court had been asked to rule in the case of David Kattenburg, the child of Holocaust survivors who disagreed with a decision by the Canadian government’s Food Inspection Agency to allow the labels. Continue Reading »

Minister Bennett: Label ‘Settler’ Products ‘Made in Peace Zone’

Economics Minister has come up with a  creative idea regarding the labeling of exports originating in Judea & Samaria.

Economics Minister Naftali Bennett suggested Tuesday that products manufactured in Judea and Samaria be marked with the label, “Made in the Peace Zone.”

This was Bennett’s novel idea for counteracting the demands to mark products manufactured in Judea and Samaria, as demanded by anti-Israel forces in Europe and elsewhere.

“That way,” he said, “the world will come to Judea and Samaria and see what real coexistence and yearning for peace are.”

Bennett spoke as he toured Samaria and visited Ariel University, where an entrepreneurship conference is being held. Continue Reading »
