Complaint Filed Against Palestinian President Abbas in ICC for War Crimes

Israeli civil rights firm accuses PA of multiple war crimes at ICC by exploiting Abbas’s Jordanian citizenship – and using evidence Fatah boasted about being involved in Gaza war.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and the International Criminal Court (ICC) have made headlines again Monday – but this time, it is Israel who is being vindicated on the global scale.

Shurat HaDin – Israel Law Center, an Israeli based civil rights organization announced today that they filed an unprecedented war crimes complaint against Abbas in the ICC.

The complaint states that the Fatah faction was responsible for numerous rocket attacks on Israeli cities during this past summer’s Gaza war, making Abbas personally liable for the terrorist groups’ criminal acts. Continue Reading »

U.S. State Dept condemns Abbas’ UNGA speech as ‘provocative’

U.S. State Department spokeswoman Psaki blasted Abbas’ provocative statements as ‘counterproductive & undermine efforts to create a positive atmosphere and restore trust between the parties.’

 

U.S. State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki issued a short statement criticizing the speech given by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the UNGA on Friday, in which he accused Israel of conducting a “war of genocide” during the recent round of fighting in Gaza.

“Abbas’ speech today included offensive characterizations that were deeply disappointing and which we reject,” reads the statement, as provided by an Associated Press correspondent.

Jibril Rajoub: Abbas is going to ‘Drop a Bomb’ on Israel at the UN General Assembly

Abbas is in New York stirring up students against a ‘drunk’ Israel, ahead of his UN General Assembly address to get the world behind hi new ‘Palestinian strategy.’

A senior member of Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction said that Abbas will “drop a bomb” against Israel at the UN General Assembly on Friday.

The senior official, Jibril Rajoub, said in an interview on Palestinian Arab media that the move would be an integration of the international community into “the strategy of the Palestinian people.”

It is worth noting that Rajoub in mid-August said the PA had made a “political decision” to support Arab terrorists “slaughtering” Jews living in Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem – an announcement that has been accompanied by a steep rise in terror attacks in the region. Continue Reading »

French President Francois Hollande said on Friday that a “solution to the conflict” between the Israelis and Palestinian Arabs will be put to the United Nations (UN) Security Council.

Hollande made the comments after meeting Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Paris, reported AFP.

PA Chairman Abbas Will Ask France to Recognize ‘State of Palestine’

Ma’an news agency says Mahmoud Abbas wants European countries to recognize ‘Palestine’ before he heads to the UN.

According to Bethlehem-based news agency Ma’an, Palestinian Authority (PA) chief Mahmoud Abbas will ask French president Francois Hollande to recognize the “state of Palestine” when Abbas meets Hollande in France Friday. According to the report, Abbas will then ask additional European countries to recognize “Palestine” even before he heads for the annual United Nations General Assembly.

Abbas’s family desert the West Bank for Jordan

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ wife & grandchildren were among the family members who secretly traveled to Jordan recently.

Members of the family of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas have secretly left Ramallah for Jordan, according to the online newspaper Rai Al-Youm.

“For the first time and secretly, all the members of President Abbas’s family have left to their residence in Amman,” the report said.

It said that Abbas’s wife and grandchildren were among the family members who left Ramallah recently.

The newspaper said that Mohamed Shehadeh, who is in charge of Abbas’s security detail, has decided to beef up security around the PA president’s office and residence in Ramallah. Continue Reading »

Palestinian President criticizes Hamas’ rocket attacks on Israel

 

President Abbas said  on Palestinian TV, that its preferable ‘to fight with wisdom & politics’, and also called on all parties to end military conflict.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas went on Palestinian television Thursday to condemn the ongoing rocket fire from Gaza on Israel, Bloomberg reported.

“What are you trying to achieve by sending rockets?” Abbas asked, without mentioning Hamas directly by name. “We prefer to fight with wisdom and politics.”

The comments were the first such condemnation from the Palestinian leader since Israel’s launch of Operation Protective Edge on Monday, during which hundreds of rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israeli communities across the country, and around 100 Palestinians, including dozens of children, have been reported killed in IAF attacks. Palestinian president convene leadership to sign request to join International Criminal Court

Palestinian president seeks to sign documents necessary for joining int’l organizations to ‘protect the people in Gaza’ by all diplomatic & legal means.

 

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will convene the Palestinian leadership at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday at his bureau, during which he expected to sign the necessary documents for joining international organizations. Inter alia, he has requested to join the International Criminal Court in The Hague, a senior official told Haaretz.

Abbas commits to disbanding unity gov’t after given proof of Hamas’ kidnapping teens

The Palestinian Authority is waiting for the “smoking gun” that Hamas was behind the kidnapping of the three Israeli teens so that President Mahmoud Abbas could officially announce the reconciliation deal void and disband the government, a senior official in Abbas’ office told Israel Hayom.

Netanyahu admits PA President Abbas’ condemnation of Hamas kidnappings was ‘good’

PM Netanyahu: Israel has no intention to deliberately hurt Palestinians & adds that Israel has shown unequivocal proof that Hamas was behind the abductions to a few countries, and the proof will shortly be made public.

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas on Monday finally condemned last Thursday’s abduction of three Israeli youth by Palestinian terrorists. But, can Israel take seriously the belated condemnation?

First, it should be noted that Abbas also condemned Israel’s military efforts to find and rescue the kidnapped boys, thereby drawing moral equivalence between the abduction and Israel’s reaction to it.
