Rambam Medical Center in Haifa performed life-saving brain surgery on a Syrian child, releasing him this week, the hospital announced Thursday.

After arriving at the hospital in critical condition from Syria, the child’s father told doctors, “Please save him, he’s all I have left.”

Israel accepts medical patients from Gaza for treatment on a regular basis, often as many as 70 patients per day.

But even the most seasoned Israeli doctors were surprised earlier this month when two separate, rare high-risk pregnancy cases were admitted to the same hospital, just days apart.

This model, which Kolath-Arbel ordered from China two years ago for $50, is thick and crude and took three months to arrive in the mail.

Israel & Christian foundation save Syrian child’s heart

Israel, with the help of a Christian organization, has been providing life-saving heart care to Arab kids from around the region. Recently, they saved a little Syrian girl.

For several months now Israel has been treating Syrian civilians wounded in their country’s ongoing civil war. The situation has also given Israel an opportunity to add Syrian children to the list of those from around the Middle East who are receiving life-saving heart treatment in the Jewish state.

Rare conjoined twins separated in Israeli hospital

The survivor, who is fighting for his life, had another pelvis, arms, legs, a kidney & digestive system. The baby boy also has a heart defect, which is common to conjoined twins.

JERUSALEM — A conjoined twin in Israel who was separated in a rare operation was in serious condition.

The Rambam Medical Center in Haifa said the twins were separated last week in a four-hour operation. It was believed to be the first time the separation surgery had ever been attempted in Israel.

The stunning hypocrisy comes to light after five Hamas-backed terrorists allegedly killed 16 Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai Peninsula that borders Gaza. Although evidence points to a Hamas-backed terror operation, Haniyeh inexplicably blamed it on Israel.

In a groundbreaking research experiment that could pay tremendous dividends down the road, the neurology department of Tel Aviv University (TAU) has used an MRI to scan the healthy brains of 120 Israelis and Europeans aged between 25 and 35.

TAU hopes to develop the world’s first atlas of the human brain

The purpose of using the Magnetic Resonance Instrument (MRI) on the subjects is reportedly to compile enough information to comprise the world’s first “atlas” of the makeup of the brain’s white matter.

Spearheaded by TAU’s Professor Yaniv Assaf, the new initiative, known as the CONNECT project, could be an important step in recognizing neurological and psychiatric diseases early enough so that treatment could help those victimized. Continue Reading »

Electrocuted Palestinian Boy Taken to Settlers For Treatment

A six-year-old Palestinian who was electrocuted was treated by Jews from Neve Tzuf on Monday after his parents, seeking medical attention, brought him to the settlement’s gate.

The child, who sustained severe injuries, was treated by a medic who resides in the West Bank settlement. He was later evacuated to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer for further treatment.
