2 wounded UN peacekeepers from errant mortar strike inside Syria treated in Israel

In apparent spillover from ongoing civil war, 2 wounded UNDOF peacekeepers stationed in Quneitra, a man & a woman from Nepal, were sent to an Israeli hospital for treatment.

Two United Nations peacekeepers stationed on the Israel-Syria border in the Golan Heights were wounded on Monday when a mortar shell struck their position in Quneitra.

It is believed the mortar fire was spillover from the ongoing civil war inside Syria.

Maryam Mansour, an 18-month-old Iraqi girl whose family fled the Islamic State, had a serious heart defect. She and her family reached northern Iraq, and from there were recently flown to Israel, where doctors at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem performed a lifesaving operation on the child.

Maryam, whose family are Iraqi Christians, was evacuated to be treated at Hadassah by the Shevet Achim organization, which works to obtain treatment in Israel for children throughout the Middle East born with cardiac problems. Continue Reading »

Three Syrian children wounded in the battles raging in their war-torn country were brought to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed on Saturday night to receive medical treatment. They were treated at the trauma unit and were expected to undergo surgery when their condition stabilizes.

As sirens blared at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, warning of incoming rockets on Thursday, a group of Israeli surgeons continued to operate on a Palestinian baby, alongside an Israeli child, in the intensive care ward, which is not adequately protected from rocket strikes.

As tensions between Israel and the Palestinian Authority escalated over the weekend after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Mahmoud Abbas is accountable for the fate of three Israeli teens kidnapped in the West Bank, Amina Abbas, the wife of the Palestinian President, underwent surgery in Israel last Friday, Israeli website Ynet revealed Sunday. Amina was treated in the private hospital Asuta, in Tel Aviv.

Robotic surgical procedure successfully performed on 13 yr-old boy with a serious defect in his digestive system at Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center.

 

 
A rare and complicated operation has been successfully performed with a robot at Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center on a 13-year-old boy born with a serious defect in his digestive system. The hospital promises that the technique will soon be used to perform such surgery on toddlers.

Injured Syrians in Israel call on the IDF to bomb Syria

Nine Ukrainian citizens landed Friday night at Ben Gurion International Airport and transferred to Israeli medical centers for treatment.

Earlier in the day, Russian news agency Interfax reported they were evacuated and will be treated at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot and Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem. The hospitals have confirmed the reports.
