Zion Oil & Gas Inc. announced on Wednesday that it had, after several years of preparation, entered the next stage of its exploratory activity in Israel.
On Sunday, the company began performing a perforation and stimulation operation at its Elijah #3 well in Israel’s northern coastal region, just south of Haifa.
Zion Oil & Gas explained the operation, which it is obligated to perform under its license agreement with Israel’s Petroleum Commissioner, as “a key method of obtaining information on the formation fluid and establishing whether a well has found a commercial hydrocarbon reservoir.” Continue Reading »
Iranian lawmaker, cleric, and Majilis (council) member Mohammed Nabavian declared Monday that Iran does need a nuclear bomb – to destroy Israel.
Iran would be able to build a nuclear bomb in “two weeks” if it gets “access to 270 kilograms of 20 percent [enriched uranium], 10 tons of 5 percent, and 20 thousand centrifuges,” Nabavian stated, according to Iranian media reports. “We are not looking for a nuclear bomb, but having a nuclear bomb is necessary to put down Israel.” Continue Reading »
The Palestinian Authority (PA) announced Saturday it will start searching for oil near Rantis, a town north west of Ramallah and just east of the 1949 Armistice line. The PA further claimed contracts will be signed with British companies in the coming weeks to produce natural gas from sea reserves off the Gaza coast.

Modiin Energy and Adira Energy discovered an estimated 128 million barrels of oil and 1.8 trillion cubic feet of gas in their Gabriella and Yitzhak licenses, in shallow water less than 15 miles northwest of Tel Aviv.

Jordanian Media and Communications Minister Rakan al-Majali denied at a news conference with Iraqi journalists Wednesday in Amman that the black gold is being smuggled to the Jewish State.
The official Jordan News Agency (Petra) quoted al-Majali as saying the claims were unfounded, and aimed at harming Jordan’s claims with Iraq.
He added that the accusations were ‘tantamount to a conspiracy aimed at intimidating’ the Hashemite Kingdom.
“How can oil be smuggled to Israel, while Jordan needs every drop,” he pointed out.
