Oscar winner: “This is completely an Israeli win”

Israeli Director Guy Nattiv and producer wife Jaime Ray Newman win the Academy Award for Live Action Short Film with ‘Skin,’ a film on teaching kids about racism.

Director Guy Nattiv, who has won an Oscar last night for best live action short film, ‘Skin’. In an interview with Army Radio on Monday he said, “This is completely an Israeli win”.

“All the brains behind ‘Skin’ are Israelis, and my entire work stems from where I grew up,” Nattiv explained.

Warner Bros investing to make Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman an Oscar nomination

 

According to the Variety trade magazine, Warner Bros executives are seeking a historical first: To have Gal Gadot’s comic-book movie Wonder Woman and its director Patty Jenkins, nominated for Oscars.

Big bucks are being spent to push Patty Jenkins’ and Israeli star Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman for an Oscar nomination, according to Variety.

According to Variety, executives have been raising funds for the campaign to make Wonder Woman the first comic book film to gain a nomination for best picture and a campaign for Patty Jenkins to be nominated as best director. The money is being spent on advertisement and small documentaries to remind voters of the hard work in the film. Continue Reading »

Pro-Palestinian supporters who advocate a boycott of Israel urged Hollywood A-listers nominated for Oscars to reject an all-expenses paid trip to the Holy Land funded by the Israeli government.

Advocates of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement reacted to news that Oscar nominees in the acting and directing categories at this month’s Academy Awards will be given a 10-day, first-class trip to Israel valued at $55,000, included among other goodies in their $200,000 gift bag.
