Palestinian officials reports Israel arrested Hamas MP….Again

An IDF spokeswoman is checking claims that Hamas lawmaker Muhammad Natsheh was arrested again by Israel, after recent release from 6-month detention.

Israel on Wednesday arrested four leaders of the Islamist movement Hamas, including lawmaker Mohammed Natsheh, in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, Hamas officials said.

Qatar proposes $1 billion fund for de-Judaization of Jerusalem

Qatar called on Tuesday for the immediate establishment of a $1 billion fund to help Palestinians in east Jerusalem, and offered to contribute $250 million to it.

More NEW Palestinian bus lines planed by Transportation Ministry

Transportation Ministry director-general Uzi Itzhaki says that purpose of the additional lines is to aid those Palestinians who live in Judea & Samaria commute to their jobs inside Israel and rejects as ridiculous all claims that these new lines are some form of apartheid.

Israel’s Transportation Ministry plans to expand public bus services for Palestinian residents of Judea and Samaria, a ministry official told Army Radio on Thursday.

Uzi Itzhaki, the Transportation Ministry’s director-general, rejected claims that new bus lines, which are meant mainly for use by Palestinians, are a form of apartheid.

UNICEF reports that Israel mistreats Palestinian children in custody

UNICEF (The United Nations Children Fund)  estimated that about 700 Palestinian children aged 12-17, most boys, are arrested, interrogated and then detained by the Israeli Police, IDF and/or security agents in the West Bank each year.

Following the uproar against its ‘Palestinian-only’ West Bank bus lines, two Afikim company buses caught fire on Monday night in Kfar Qassem.

There were no reports of injury, and the police are investigating suspicions of arson.

Due to the incident, the company’s drivers were asked to remove all buses from the Arab town, fearing similar occurrences in light of the protest against the new bus lines. Continue Reading »

Ministry launches ‘Palestinian bus routes’ in West Bank

Transportation Ministry sets up new bus lines for Arab passengers in West Bank towns & insists the additional lines are for general public, even though only Palestinian villages have been advised of their schedules.

Racial segregation or transportation mitigation? The Transportation Ministry announced that starting Sunday it will begin operating designated lines for Palestinians in the West Bank.

The ministry alleges that the move is meant to ease the congestion felt on bus lines used by Jews in the same areas, but several bus drivers told Ynet that Palestinians who will choose to travel on the so-called “mixed” lines, will be asked to leave them. Leaked: Netanyahu secretly visited Jordan to advance peace with the Palestinians

The Israel’s PM traveled last week to meet Jordan’s King Abdullah II, according to AFP, to discuss ways to advance peace with the Palestinians.

Unreleased EU report blames Jewish settlements for area violence

 

EU diplomats say Jewish settlements in area E-1 & east Jerusalem threaten peace & are calling for economic sanctions against Israel.

A copy of a report written by EU heads of mission in Jerusalem and Ramallah condemns recent Israeli settlement building and recommends that EU member states place economic sanctions on settlements, AFP reported on Wednesday.

E-1The report referred to Israel’s settlement construction in east Jerusalem as “systematic, deliberate and provocative” and stated that Jewish settlement construction was “the biggest single threat to the two state solution.”

The report singled out as problematic Israeli development in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Har Homa, Gilo, and Givat Hamatos, as well as Israeli settlement plans in the area known as E1.

Palestinian diplomatic mission to Cyprus upgrades to Embassy status
