Israel will not release 4th group of 26 Palestinian security prisoners Saturday

 

By law, the names of the murderers chosen for release must be made public 48 hours prior, not including Shabbat, in order to allow time for appeals to the High Court of Justice.

Israel will not release a fourth batch of 26 Palestinian security prisoners Saturday night as stipulated under the framework deal that led to the renewal of negotiations last July.

White House Offers Israel Pollard for Israel’s 4th Terrorist Release

If Jerusalem does not renege on releasing the 4th batch of Palestinian murders from prison, and continues ‘peace talks,’ Washington says Pollard will go free, according to IDF Radio.

The United States has offered to release longtime captive Jonathan Pollard from jail if Israel agrees to release the fourth tranche of terrorist murderers that it is supposed to free as a “gesture” to the Palestinian Authority (PA), reports IDF Radio‘s Ilil Shahar. In addition, Israel has to agree to continue “peace talks” with the PA.

Minister of Economics and Naftali Bennett, who heads the Bayit Yehudi party and is a member of the Diplomacy and Security Cabinet, made clear Tuesday that no Arab-Israelis will be included in the last batch of terrorist murderers being released at the end of the month, as part of a “gesture” toward the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Israel must not release arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti for the sake of negotiations with the Palestinian Authority (PA), Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz warned Sunday. Barghouti is serving five life sentences in an Israeli prison for multiple murders.

According to reports in the PA media, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is planning to demand Barghouti’s freedom as one of his conditions for continuing talks with Israel.

Proposed Bill Would Cancel Gov’t Stipends to Early Release of Terrorists

MK Yariv Levin: The bill is to guarantee that early released terrorists should not also benefit by receiving ‘acclimation’ payments.

Terrorists prisoners released before the end of their jail terms in diplomatic deals and exchanges like the Schalit deal will not receive “acclimation stipends” from the National Insurance Institute (NII), and their eligibility for other NII payments will be limited, according to a bill proposed by MK Yariv Levin (Likud-Beytenu).

Israel has informed the United States of plans to release the next group of Palestinian prisoners on Dec. 30 under a U.S.-brokered peace plan, the State Department said on Friday.

Ministers to decide on Palestinian prisoner release list

 

Palestinians officials outraged at planned announcement of new Israeli settlement constructions plans, alongside the release of jailed Palestinian terrorists.
