IDF tells ICRC ‘No’ search for buried Gaza terrorists until agreement on Israeli captives

Knowing Hamas is holding 2 captives and the remains of 2 deceased soldiers in Gaza (for years), the Red Cross had no reservations asking Israel to locate 5 missing tunnel-diggers believed to be ‘buried’ in Israel.

Israel will not allow a search for Palestinian militants missing and presumed dead after an Israeli strike on a terror tunnel to be retrieved until there is “progress” on the return of Israelis held captive by Hamas, a senior Israeli defense official said on Thursday.

The International Committee of the Red Cross has demanded that Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan reinstate visitation rights for Hamas prisoners from Gaza who are serving time in Israeli prisons. Ironically, an Arab media report pointed out how it’s the Red Cross who must provide imprisoned terrorists with power of attorney paper-work to sign that ultimately facilitates receiving monthly stipends for their heinous crimes, directly to their bank accounts.

A subsection of a Palestinian Authority guideline stipulates that imprisoned terrorists must receive their salaries only after they fill out a form provided by the Red Cross, Arab media reported.

According to the report, the Palestinian Authority’s 18th guideline is intended to regulate payments to imprisoned terrorists. This guideline designates someone or something called “Wakill” as authorized via power of attorney to receive the salaries in the prisoner’s name. Continue Reading »

Gazans to visit family imprisoned in Israel

For first time in five years, Palestinian security prisoners held in Rimon to receive family visits

Palestinians from Gaza Strip will visit relatives in Israeli prisons for the first time in five years on Monday.

The visit to Ramon Prison is part of the agreement signed between the Israel Prisons Service and the Palestinian prisoners, with the aim of ending their hunger strike.

The IPS said that the visit was a pilot program and that if it proved successful, similar visits would take place in other prisons in Israel.

According to the deal, the IPS will then facilitate visits by security prisoners’ relatives on a regular basis. Continue Reading »
