India reports: Iran behind attack on Israeli diplomat in Feb.

Official Indian Police report names Islamic Republic’s Revolutionary Guards responsible for New Delhi terrorist attack on Israeli Embassy

The New Delhi Police has officially named Iran’s Revolutionary Guards responsible for the February 13 terror attacks against Israeli diplomats in the Indian capital.

The attack saw an explosion tear through a diplomat’s car in the vicinity of the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi. Tal Yehoshua Koren, the wife of one of the diplomats was injured in the blast.

According to the Time of India, the investigation has concluded that the Iranian suspects “discussed the plan to attack the Israeli diplomats in India and other countries with Indian journalist Syed Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi in January.” Continue Reading »

Romney calling Jerusalem ‘Israel’s capital’ is ‘unacceptable,’ says Palestinian’s Erekat

In a speech that followed a day of meetings with Israeli leaders, Romney said it was a ‘moving experience to be in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital.’

 

Senior Palestinian official Saeb Erekat said on Monday that presumptive Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s assertion that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital is “absolutely unacceptable.”

In a speech in Jerusalem on Sunday evening that followed a day of meetings with Israel’s leaders, Romney said it was a “moving experience to be in Jerusalem,” and described the city as “Israel’s capital.” He suggested that he would move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem if he were elected president. During a conference on Thursday at Megalim – the City of David Institute for Jerusalem Studies, journalist Benny Liss screened a movie recorded a few years ago that clearly shows thousands of skeletons and human bones in what appears to be a mass grave.

Chinese destroyer crosses Suez Canal & enters Mediterranean Sea

Warship crosses via Suez into Mediterranean , possibly en route to Syrian coast for naval exercises

A Chinese destroyer sailed through Egypt’s Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea, Egyptian daily Al-Shuruk reported on Sunday.

The destroyer could be on its way to the Syrian coast, the Egyptian newspaper reported, adding that the warship is planning to hold naval maneuvers in the area.

Al Shuruk daily further claimed that the canal authority authorized the Chinese ship’s crossing through the canal following permission from the Egyptian armed forces.

The Italian Olympic team at the London Olympic Games made a noble gesture Sunday and stood in silence outside the quarters of the Israeli team, in memory of the 11 athletes slain in the Munich Olympics 40 years ago, Voice of Israel radio reported Sunday.

About 30 Italians were present at the ceremony, including Italy’s Minister of Sport, the heads of the Italian Olympic Committee and athletes. Israeli Olympic Committee head Tzvi Varshaviak and Olympic delegation leader Efraim Zinger also took part. Continue Reading »

Netanyahu flatly denies AP story on Israel’s spying on the CIA

Earlier on Saturday, the Associated Press had run an in-depth report quoting anonymous US intelligence officials incriminating members of Israeli security services. The article, which was headlined by AP, “US sees Israel, tight Mideast ally, as spy threat,” described certain instances where Central Intelligence Agency officers stationed in Israel found that their secured locked boxes had been “tampered” with. In a different case, a CIA officer’s fridge had been “rearranged.”

Two more Iron Dome anti-missile defense systems are to be delivered to Israel by early next year.

In addition, U.S. President Barack Obama signed a bill over the weekend that expanded America’s defense cooperation with Israel. The bill included a $70 million allocation for the Iron Dome that was approved by the Congress two months ago.

The Iron Dome system is equipped with a battery of three launchers and uses Tamir interceptor missiles to intercept and destroy rockets at ranges of 4 to 70 kilometers. Continue Reading »

Syria’s chemical weapons & al-Qaida

The al-Qaida network appeared to be prepared to use chemical weapons in the terrorist attacks it was planning in order to cause far greater numbers of casualties in comparison with a conventional terrorist attack.

During a nighttime raid in Amman on April 20, 2004, Jordanian security forces foiled a plot by al-Qaida to attack the headquarters of Jordanian intelligence, the Jordanian prime minister’s office and the U.S. Embassy with chemical weapons. Tons of chemical agents were seized that apparently had come from Syria. Jordanian officials estimated that the chemical attack could have killed 20,000 people.
