Israel’s Energy Minister Says Use Frozen PA Account to Pay Off Enormous Electric Debt

Israeli Energy & Water Minister Shalom said Israel should use the frozen PA tax money to pay off the Palestinian’s intentionally unpaid electric bill.

Energy and Water Minister Silvan Shalom on Saturday called on Israel to use the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) tax money it froze to pay off the PA’s enormous debt to the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC).

“Following the decision to freeze half a billion shekels in Palestinian tax money, I have asked that the funds will be transferred to cover the Palestinian debt to the IEC, which continues to rise every month,” Shalom wrote on Facebook.

2014 Saw 14 New IDF Innovations

IDF released list of developments from 2014 that included new equipment, new programs, and new regulations, many of which were instituted during ‘Operation Protective Edge’.

The IDF released a list Friday of 14 new changes instituted in 2014 on its website – ranging from a focus on healthier food to upgrades in defense.

Overall, meals became healthier and more “green,” it said, with two new programs upgrading ready-to-eat meals for combat soldiers and offering vegan options for all recruits. Combat rations were made with lower fat and served for the first time during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.

Israel security firm releases 50 killed terrorists’ names previously ‘concealed by Hamas’

 

 

Security assessment highlights how keeping names unpublished makes number of killed ‘civilians’ higher, as Hamas employs a “deliberate policy of concealment to serve diplomatic campaign against Israel.”

An Israeli defense analysis center released on Thursday the names of 50 Gazan terrorists killed in combat with Israel this summer, whose names have been concealed by Hamas from Palestinian casualty lists.

The Tel Aviv-based Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center said all of the combatant casualties were members of Hamas’s military wing, the Izzadin Al-Kassam Brigades.

“The names did not show up in other casualty lists publicized by organizations affiliated with Hamas and the Palestinian Authority,” said the Center, which is a part of the Israeli Intelligence and Heritage Commemoration Center, founded by leading members of the Israeli intelligence community. Young Students Urge UN Head to Condemn Arab Firebombings on Israeli Civilians

 

1,000 students at the Amit Lehava Girls’ School send petition to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon asking him to condemn the firebombing attack that severely burned their 11 yr-old friend, adding, “Ignoring is the same thing as silently supporting.”

UK Daily selects President Rivlin as one of 2014’s heroes

The respected British daily, the Guardian, says that Israel’s President Rivlin serves as ‘country’s conscience’ by fighting ‘racism & intolerance, and standing up for civil rights of Palestinian Arabs.’

The left-leaning paper said that “Reuven ‘Ruvi’ Rivlin is an unlikely hero” due to his lifelong affiliation with the Likud and support of the idea of a “Greater Israel”.

Yet the paper said that “ever since his elevation to Israel’s largely ceremonial presidency he has acted as something like his country’s conscience – both castigating what he sees as a national slide into racism and intolerance, and standing up for the civil rights of Palestinians.” Continue Reading »

The official Facebook page of Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party is marking 50 years since the founding of the Arab nationalist group – and in typical style has posted a graphic image glorifying the murder of Israelis in celebration.

The image posted on the Fatah Party Central Page shows a pile of skulls and bones, topped with a rifle bearing the Fatah flag.

Several of the bloodied skulls are marked with stars of David.
