Israel took another step toward biometric identification on Wednesday, introducing 17 biometric passport stands to the Passport Control section of Ben-Gurion airport, according to Channel 10.

Israel’s Energy Minister Says Use Frozen PA Account to Pay Off Enormous Electric Debt

Israeli Energy & Water Minister Shalom said Israel should use the frozen PA tax money to pay off the Palestinian’s intentionally unpaid electric bill.

Energy and Water Minister Silvan Shalom on Saturday called on Israel to use the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) tax money it froze to pay off the PA’s enormous debt to the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC).

“Following the decision to freeze half a billion shekels in Palestinian tax money, I have asked that the funds will be transferred to cover the Palestinian debt to the IEC, which continues to rise every month,” Shalom wrote on Facebook.

Energy, Water and National Infrastructures Minister Silvan Shalom aims to see a permanent Israeli delegate based in Abu Dhabi, as a representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) headquartered in the emirate, he told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

NEW FIND: Natural Gas found at Karish reservoir

Energy Minister Shalom praises Delek Group’s announcement of significant gas presence from the Karish 1 dill-rig.




A new and potentially robust “shark” may be floating in the Mediterranean’s eastern waters.

A significant gas presence on Wednesday evening was reported from the Karish 1 well (shark in English), located about 75 kilometers northwest of Haifa, said The Delek Group, an Israelbased conglomerate and gas provider.

While official analyses of the drilling results will be conducted by Netherland, Sewell – Oil & Gas Engineering Consulting Services (NSAI) and published within the next two months, the Delek Group and its partners are stressing that there is likely a sizable gas presence in the well, which is located within the Alon C basin.
