Christians Beatify Their Palestinian Curse

Op-Ed:

Christian Arab Palestinians have chosen to support the side that’s destroying Christianity throughout the Mid-East. Hating Jews forges a bond between enemies.

By Giulio Meotti

The movie “The Stones Cry Out” by the Italian filmaker Yasmine Perni “gives a detailed account of the historical, cultural, and political place occupied by Christians in the recent history of the Palestinian nation, and in its struggle against colonialism”

The movie is one of the most powerful propaganda tools of the Palestinian Arab Christians. The documentary is supported by Sabeel, the Christian organization based in Jerusalem which foments anti-Semitism through the Scriptures, while Catholic authories and PLO propagandista such as Hanan Ashrawi “blessed” the movie. Apartheid state? Israeli Christian Arab wins popular singing contest

For those who believe Israel is a state that practices racism against its minorities, the choice should have been obvious. Of course the Jew would win! Those racist Israelis would never vote for an Arab!

By Israel Today Staff

In yet another example of just how silly are the claims that Israel is a racist apartheid state, 19-year-old Lina Mahoul, an Arab Christian from the northern town of Acre, became the second winner of Israel’s wildly popular singing competition show, The Voice.

Nazareth Christians are becoming a dwindling minority

Nazareth’s Muslims have even more reason to hate their Christian neighbors, many of whom are loyal to the State of Israel and even send their children to the IDF.

By Ryan Jones

Israeli business newspaper Globes recently ran a feature story on the fast dwindling number of Christians living in Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth in northern Israel.

Nun in Nazareth – Israel Today

The article notes that while the city once had a strong Christian majority, today a mere one-third of residents are Christians. In reality, Nazareth today is a Muslim city, and local Christians are feeling the squeeze. Continue Reading »

Op-Ed: Arab Christians, You’re Next

Arab Christians are cosying up to the Muslims, but it won’t do them any good, since they’re also on the ‘Jihad list’. This includes a noted Palestinian Christian Arab columnist who has revealed his true colors in an article for the Arab media.

By Giulio Meotti

Given the common status as minorities within an overwhelmingly Islamic region, you might expect Christian Arabs to find common cause with Jews and Israel. But it seems that the traditional hatred of Eastern Christianity for Judaism has closed off that option.

First the Saturday people then the Sunday People

The proof is Ray Hanania, a regular columnist for the Jerusalem Post and other publications, a well known Arab Christian, considered by them to be a “moderate Palestinian”. Continue Reading »

Analysis: The process of Islamization has become an assault on the region’s Christian communities

By Professor Yossi Shain

The Middle East’s Christian population has been gradually dwindling and is on the defensive with respect to its identity – and even its very existence. In the early 20th century Christians made up some 20% of the Middle East’s population. Today they amount to less than 5% of the population.

In Depth Report: Why Christians are leaving Bethlehem

Christians feel like they are trapped in a cultural and religious ghetto. Even though Bethlehem is enjoying unprecedented financial & tourism growth, the city’s Christian residents are emigrating abroad in droves because of cultural & religious suffocation in a mostly Muslim city.

Persecution and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are only some of the reasons.

A falafel costs five to ten shekels in Bethlehem (in Tel Aviv the average is around 15 shekels). Hotel rooms are also substantially cheaper than hotel rooms in neighboring Jerusalem: only $25 per night. Even the Christmas product industry has managed to maintain low prices thanks to imports from the Far East.

Bethlehem’s war on Jesus

But in Israeli controlled Nazareth, no such  intimidation exists. Quite the contrary, the Christian population is flourishing without threats or violence.

By Brian Schrauger

It is Christmas Eve in Bethlehem in 2012. Tonight on Manger Road, in Manger Square and on all its thoroughfares, Bethlehem is lit with many-colored lights. Like rivulets they stream down the city’s face, falling in-between vibrant shapes of snowmen and Santas, stars and trees. Why does Bethlehem weep luminescent tears disguised as twinkling strings of light?

Until one week ago there was not a single place in its public square that even gave a hint of the reason for this pagan day’s redemptive transformation into a holy day. Continue Reading »
