Unlike other countries in the Middle East, where Christian communities are shrinking and many of them are in danger, in Israel there is a strong and growing Christian community that participates fully in the life of the country, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday in a taped Christmas greeting.

Prime Minister Netanyahu: Israel is adapting to the dramatic changes in Syria

PM Netanyahu: I don’t care what the UN says about settlement construction

With int’l criticism of Israel’s planned construction in E. Jerusalem, Judea & Samaria peaking, the PM says in a television interview it is Israel’s right to build in Jerusalem.

 

Amid increasing international criticism of Israel’s recent approval of construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a television interview on Friday that he doesn’t “care what the UN says.”

Netanyahu to Czech Republic for support at UN: Thank You!

Czech Republic only European country that rejected UN resolution, to protect Israel.

 

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Prague on Wednesday to thank his counterpart Petr Necas for friendship and courage in his country’s vote at the UN against recognizing a Palestinian state.

The Czech Republic was the only European country and one of nine that voted last week to reject the resolution upgrading the Palestinians’ status to a nonmember observer state. It passed 138-9, with 41 abstentions.

Merkel’s message: Promote the peace process or face world seclusion

PM Netanyahu will be meeting German Chancellor Merkel in Berlin on Wednesday evening to discuss Palestinian issues.

 

With Israel and European Union states embroiled in a diplomatic crisis, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel Wednesday night in Berlin.

Merkel, who has had a rocky relationship with Netanyahu over the past four years, is expected to stress that the Israeli leader must choose between promoting the peace process, including establishing a Palestinian state, or facing international seclusion.

Pursuant to Abu Mazen’s incitement speech at the UN General Assembly, the Cabinet, received a special briefing on incitement in the Palestinian Authority.

The briefing was presented by Strategic Affairs Ministry Director-General Yossi Kuperwasser, the coordinator of the professional team that is monitoring the issue and which is constantly updating the “Culture of Peace and Incitement Index in the Palestinian Authority.”

At an annual event discussing ways to end human trafficking, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared that the problem of illegal immigration into Israel “has been solved.” With no more than a few dozen illegals managing to get into Israel in recent months, Netanyahu said that for all intents and purposes, his government had managed to put an end to illegal immigration, and with it, the problem of human trafficking.

Report: Netanyahu assured Obama Israel not planning ground assault

The Daily Beast reports Israeli PM assured US president Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza will happen only if Hamas escalates rocket fire.

WASHINGTON – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave private assurances to US President Barack Obama on Friday evening that Israel was not planning at that moment to launch a ground offensive in Gaza, The Daily Beast news website reported.

According to the report, which was published early on Sunday, Netanyahu told Obama that those plans would change if Hamas escalated its rocket war.

According to two American officials who were briefed on the phone conversation between Netanyahu and Obama, the PM said Israel would not consider a full-scale ground invasion of Gaza unless there was escalation from Hamas or an attack that caused significant casualties. Continue Reading »

Obama “reiterated U.S. support for Israel’s right to defend itself, and expressed regret over the loss of Israeli and Palestinian civilian lives,” according to a statement on the call.
