IAF Hits Gaza Terror Sites – Three Targets Destroyed

IAF aircraft strike weapons storage site in central Gaza and two rocket launching sites in northern Gaza

IAF aircraft conducted several airstrikes in Gaza on Monday night, targeting at least three targets.

According to a statement by the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the aircraft struck two rocket launching sites in northern Gaza and a weapons storage site in central Gaza. The attack, noted the statement, is a response to the continued rocket fire by Gazan terrorists into Israeli territory.

Direct hits were identified and all Israeli aircraft returned safely to their bases.

“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel,” said the IDF statement, laying the blame for any Gaza terrorist attacks on its Hamas rulers. Continue Reading »

The IDF has received a painful reminder of the growing threat posed by advanced rocket launchers in the hands of Gaza terror groups in the wake of Saturday’s border attack which saw four IDF soldiers injured by an anti-tank missile fired from Gaza.

Gaza Fires Two Rockets that Explode in Eshkol Region

2 Kassam rockets fired by Gaza-based terrorists fall in open fields in the Eshkol Regional Council.

Two Kassam rockets fired by Gaza-based terrorists exploded in open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council on Friday afternoon.

The rockets did not cause any physical injuries or damage. The rockets were fired despite an Egyptian-brokered “ceasefire” that was supposed to have gone effect in late October, after Gaza-based terrorists fired more than 80 rockets at southern Israel within a period of 24 hours.

Similar “ceasefires” have been announced by Hamas rulers after previous rounds of escalation, but the Gaza-based terrorist groups always take advantage of these “ceasefires” to periodically send a reminder to Israelis that they have the ability to fire rockets. Continue Reading »

Gaza-based terrorists fired a barrage of 16 rockets at southern Israel on Sunday night.

The rockets exploded in open areas in the Eshkol Regional Council, miraculously causing no physical injuries or property damage.

Following the attacks, residents of the communities located near Gaza were asked on Monday morning to remain within 15 seconds from a protected space. However, it is expected that schools in the region will remain open.

The government is set to vote on the southern communities’ fortification plan despite the fact that the 2013 State budget has yet to be approved, Ynet leaned Sunday.

The plan, promoted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will see to the defense of 1,700 homes and institutions located 4.5-7 kilometers from Gaza Strip. It is estimated at NIS 270 million ($69.7 million).

Ceasefire Begins with False-Start: Mortar Fired into Southern Israel

Just hours after a cease fire by Gaza terror groups was supposed to come into effect, a mortar shell fell in southern Israel.

A mortar shell fell in an area of the Eshkol Regional Council Thursday morning, hours after a cease fire by Gaza terror groups was supposed to come into effect. Southern Israel remained on high alert Thursday after some 80 rockets were fired on Wednesday, with residents spending the night in bomb shelters.

The rocket fell in an open area. No injuries or damage were reported.

Schools were open in the western Negev Thursday morning, although residents were told to remain on alert and in the proximity of protected areas and bomb shelters, just in case. Continue Reading »

IAF Retaliates in Gaza After Rocket Barrage on Sderot

IAF aircraft struck a terror activity center in northern Gaza on Tuesday night, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced.

According to the statement, direct hits at the target were detected. All Israeli aircraft safely returned to their bases.

The attack came in response the constant rocket attacks into Israeli territory.

“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who carries out terror attacks against Israel,” said the IDF statement.

A Qassam rocket attack by Gaza Arab terrorists on southern Israel prompted a “red alert” Tuesday evening, Channel 2 reported. The alarm was sounded after terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired an anti-aircraft missile at an Israeli aircraft. Officials said terrorists fired a Strela shoulder-fired missile at an IDF helicopter, however, missed the target.

Terrorist Grad Missile Hits Home in Netivot

2 more Grad missiles fired by Gaza terrorists disrupt the calm of the Sabbath in Netivot, where a woman was treated for shock.

The calm of the Sabbath was disrupted on Friday evening as two Grad missiles fired by Gaza-based terrorists exploded in the city of Netivot, Channel 2 News reported.

At around 7:30 p.m., residents of the city, some of whom were in the midst of their Shabbat dinner, heard the “red alert” siren. Shortly afterwards the two missiles exploded, one of them exploding in the yard of a home.

Israeli families dropped whatever they were doing and raced for shelter once more Wednesday, as shelling from Gaza resumed in the south.

Palestinian Authority terrorists sent mortar shells flying at a town not far from the Gaza border at around the time that children were arriving at school, and their parents arriving at work.

The shells exploded in open areas, and did not damage any structures, officials said. No one was physically injured, although people who suffer from anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorders had symptoms triggered by the attack. Continue Reading »
