A Gaza rocket has directly hit a home in the Sdot Negev Regional council on Wednesday, as more than 30 rockets were fired into southern Israel since the morning.

Meanwhile, the Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted a rocket fired at Netivot for the first time on Wednesday. Another rocket, which was fired during the same barrage, directly hit a home in Sdot Negev, and several people suffered from shock. Continue Reading »

BBC: Hamas admits Gaza child was killed by Palestinian rocket

A Hamas official has admitted to the BBC that a Gaza child killed on Tuesday died as a result of Palestinian rocket fire, and not from an Israeli strike. While this is not the first time Gazans have been killed by misfired Palestinian munitions, the admission, made to BBC Gaza and West Bank Correspondent Jon Donnison, is unusual in its rarity. Rocket fire continues: 13 Qassams hit Negev; IAF strikes Gaza

Incessant rocket fire on south Israel prompts another IDF strike in Gaza; one rocket lands near police sappers, but no one hurt

Thirteen Qassam rockets fired by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza Tuesday afternoon landed in open areas within the Negev’s Eshkol Regional Council. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Terrorist, Soldier Killed in Gaza-Area Gunfight

Two soldiers were wounded in the same area about a week ago.

 

A 20-year-old Golani Brigade soldier was killed Friday in a shootout with a Gaza terrorist.

The terrorist tried to infiltrate the western Negev from Gaza and was eliminated during the predawn hours of Friday morning. According to a preliminary investigation, the terrorist took advantage of fog around 4:00 a.m. to go through a hole he cut in the security fence near the Kissufim crossing.

A Golani unit responded to the scene and identified the terrorist who opened fire at the soldiers, killing one. Artillery soldiers fired back, killing the terrorist.

Hamas Terrorist to Address UN Human Rights Council

Ismail al-Ashqar will speak to the UNHRC Monday, regarding Hamas terrorists in Israeli jails.

Senior Hamas official Ismail al-Ashqar will address the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday, an official statement said.

Al-Ashqar arrived in Switzerland on Sunday ahead of the appearance, which will focus on the issue of Hamas members being held in Israeli jails, the statement added.

Blogger Elder of Zion noted that al-Ashqar has publicly called for Hamas to kidnap Israeli soldiers – an act that constitutes a war crime.

IAF strikes Gaza targets after rockets fired at Beersheba

Israeli aircraft respond to Grad rockets fired at South, striking rocket launching site, smuggling tunnel; IDF might need large ground operation in Strip, OC Southern Command Russo says.

 

The Israel Air Force struck a rocket launching site in northern Gaza and a smuggling tunnel in the southern Strip overnight Wednesday. Palestinians did not immediately report any injuries in the strikes.

The IAF strikes came after the Egyptian-brokered cease-fire that went into effect on Tuesday appeared to collapse earlier on Wednesday night when Gazans fired two Grad-model Katyusha rockets into Beersheba.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday condemned the rocket fire from Gaza onto Israel while meeting with opposition leader Tzipi Livni in New York. Report: Hamas leaders head to Cairo

Arab media outlets say delegation of senior Hamas members arrive in Egypt in order to discuss escalation between Palestinians, Israel

 

Arab media reported Saturday that a delegation of Hamas leaders headed by Mahmoud al-Zahar, have left the Gaza Strip for Cairo in order to discuss the escalation in violence between the Palestinians and Israel, and the energy crisis in the Strip.

According to the reports, the delegation also includes other top Hamas officials.

The latest round of violence, which began on Friday after the assassination of Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) commander Zuhir al-Qaisi, has resulted in the deaths of 15 Palestinian terrorists and more than 100 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip. Continue Reading »

Sbarro terrorist gets TV show

Ahlam Tamimi, Hamas operative freed in Shalit deal, hosts weekly show about Palestinian prisoners

 

Ahlam Tamimi, the Hamas terrorist who drove a suicide bomber to the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem where 15 people were consequently killed, has gotten her own television show, according to Israel’s Ynet.

Tamimi, who was sentenced to 16 life terms in Israeli prison, was freed in October as part of the swap that bought IDF soldier Gilad Shalit‘s freedom. She was deported to Jordan, where she appears to have launched a television career.

The Hamas-affiliated Al-Quds satellite channel has slotted Tamimi to present a weekly show called “Nassim al-Ahrar,” which deals with Palestinian convicts imprisoned in Israel, and those who have been freed. Continue Reading »
