25% of Terror Prisoners study at Hamas University

Israel’s prisons are a breeding ground for Hamas terrorists as 1 in 4 of Palestinian Authority prisoners get an education from Hamas university.

One-fourth of terrorists from Gaza, Judea and Samaria serving time in Israeli prisons are getting an education through Hamas, according to a report by the Hamas government in Gaza that was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

A Hamas project titled Jamat el-Ahrar (Sons of Freedom) allows prisoners to continue their studies in prison via Hamas.

Terrorists in Israel’s prisons were previously eligible for free studies in Israeli schools. In 2010, the number of inmates enrolled in the Open University stood at 270, of which 210 were classified as “security prisoners” jailed for terror-related offenses. Continue Reading »

The Hamas terror group, taking advantage of the rioting in Judea and Samaria, is calling on terrorists to kidnap IDF soldiers.

According to the Iranian Fars agency, senior Hamas leader Salah al-Bardawil urged terrorists participating in a rally in Gaza in protest of the death of a terrorist in Israeli custody to kidnap Israeli soldiers.

TV2 Report: Israel & Hamas Holding Secret Negotiations via Egypt

Within the framework of secret talks with Hamas through the Egyptians, Israel may soon agree that Egypt’s border with Gaza be opened.

Israel has been holding secret negotiations with the Hamas terror movement since the end of its Operation Pillar of Defense, Channel 2 News reported on Friday.

According to the report, the Egyptian-mediated talks are being held as part of the ceasefire reached between the sides at the end of counterterrorism operation in November and which said that both sides will refrain from attacking one another and the sides will work to reach understandings.

Channel 2 News indicated that an Israeli delegation that arrived in Cairo on Thursday came to Egypt for the purpose of holding talks with Hamas, through Egyptian mediators. Continue Reading »

Vessela Tcherneva, the spokeswoman for the Bulgarian foreign ministry, told the Jerusalem Post that “the news about an official visit of Hamas is wrong and false” and no one has invited Hamas from the side of the government.”

Morsi floods Gaza’s smuggling tunnels, hurting Hamas’ profits

Since the Muslim Brotherhood took control of Egypt, up to 200 smuggling tunnels have been closed, curtailing Hamas’ clandestine and nefarious projects.

Egyptian forces have flooded smuggling tunnels under the border with the Palestinian-ruled Gaza Strip in a campaign to shut them down, Egyptian and Palestinian officials said.

Locals said two other tunnels were likewise flooded, with Egyptians deliberately pumping in water.”The Egyptians have opened the water to drown the tunnels,” said Abu Ghassan, who supervises the work of 30 men at one tunnel some 200 meters (yards) from the border fence.

Egyptian security forces have rejected a Muslim Brotherhood request to establish a Hamas office in Cairo after leaving its headquarters in Damascus, according to Egyptian security sources quoted by the Iraqi paper Azzaman on Tuesday. The security sources were quoted as saying that they put national security considerations first, especially now when Egypt is in the middle of unrest and the new office could lead to further disturbances.

Hamas is making at least a million dollars a day in “tax” money from Gaza smugglers, a senior IDF officer said Monday. Colonel Wael Tafesh, who is a top IDF officer in the IDF’s coordination unit with the Palestinian Authority, said that Hamas provided “protection” to smugglers and collected payments for the service, and often used the smugglers to order goods for their own use.

Hamas Politburo chief Khaled Mashaal has asked Jordan’s King Abdullah II to inform US President Barack Obama that Hamas accepts the principle of a two-state solution, Saudi Arabia’s al-Sharq newspaper reported.

According to the report, which quoted Jordanian sources, Mashaal expressed willingness to stand behind a solution that will see a Palestinian state being established on the 1967 borders during a meeting with the king on Monday.
