US puts top Hezbollah & Hamas leaders on terror blacklist

 

Two of the Hamas terrorists on the US blacklist had been reluctantly freed by Israel in exchange for captive IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.

The United States put three senior members of Hamas, a senior commander and two leaders freed by Israel in exchange for captive soldier Gilad Shalit, on its terror blacklist Tuesday.

The State Department said Yehia Sinwar and Rawhi Mushtaha along with the Palestinian group’s military commander Mohammed Deif had been named “specially designated global terrorists” under US law.

 Deif has been described as Israel’s most wanted man for his role since 2002 as commander of Hamas’ military wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, overseeing attacks in Gaza and Israel.

Police in Lima confirmed arrest of man with unconfirmed identity who is suspected of having links to an unnamed “int’l terrorist organization,” after uncovering evidence of military-grade explosive materials in his home.

Authorities in who is suspected of having links to an unnamed “int’l terrorist organization.” have reportedly arrested a Hezbollah member who was allegedly planning to carry out attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in the South American country, Channel 2 reported Thursday night.

According to the report, the arrest was made after intelligence information identified targets associated with Israelis and Jews in Peru, including areas popular with Israeli backpackers, the Israeli Embassy in Lima and Jewish community institutions.

Students at Tel Aviv University are hoping to prevent the appearance of a convicted terrorist at an event organized by Arab students next week. According to Lev Solodkin, head of “The Israelis”, a Zionist activist group on campus, Arab groups have invited Mohammed Cana’ana, who was convicted of planning a terror attack against Israelis, for which he spent several years in prison.

EU rejects declaring Hezbollah a ‘terrorist organization’

EU sources report that if Hezbollah’s involvement in last July’s terrorist attack in Bulgaria is proven, the most the EU will do is consider implementing pinpoint sanctions against it, but the European Union will not call Hezbollah a terrorist organization.

If the required proof implicating Hezbollah in the terrorist attack in Bulgaria last July is provided, then the EU would lean toward implementing pinpoint sanctions against elements involved in the attack, but would refrain from formally declaring Hezbollah a “terrorist organization,” European Union sources said on Sunday.
