IDF refuses Hamas leader’s request to allow sisters attend son’s Gaza wedding

Quid pro quo: No ‘humanitarian accommodations’ in allowing Hamas leader’s 3 sisters into Gaza for nephew’s wedding, as long has Hamas continues to detain 2 Israelis in Gaza.

Israel has informed Hamas’ deputy political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, that it will not permit his three sisters to visit the Gaza Strip to attend his son’s wedding.

Haniyeh’s sisters, holders of Israeli citizenship, live in the Beduin town of Tel Sheva, a suburb of Beersheba.

IDF Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, who heads the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), said it was his decision to refuse Haniyeh’s request.

Two Israelis are believed to be held captive in the Gaza Strip, one of them missing for ten months, it was revealed on Thursday morning following the lifting of a gag order.
