Finally! Gov’t bars privileged Hamas families from ‘humanitarian visits’ to Israel

The Israeli government announced on Monday that the IDF and border security are to ban all Hamas leaders & family members from entering Israel for any kind of ‘humanitarian’ visit, including medical treatment in Israeli medical facilities.

The Israeli government announced Monday that it would no longer permit members of the Hamas terrorist group or their immediate family members in Gaza to enter Israel with entry permits issued out of humanitarian concerns, including to seek medical treatment in Israeli hospitals, as opposed to medical facilities in the Gaza Strip.

The announcement was made Monday after the government acknowledged to the Supreme Court that it had hitherto not fully implemented a security cabinet decision which included sanctions targeting Hamas leadership. Continue Reading »

Israel gives Taiwan 117 earthquake-resistant tables for its schools

The Israeli donation of 117 earthquake-resistant tables, given to a school in the city of Tainan, is in memory to the 117 victims of the earthquake that hit the country in February.

Israel has given Taiwan a donation of 117 earthquake-resistant tables, as a gesture of solidarity with the country ahead of its independence day on October 10, and in commemoration of the 117 victims of the quake that hit Taiwan in February.

Marah Diab, a ten-year-old girl from Gaza who suffered from kidney failure, died Wednesday night after endless waiting for permission to leave Gaza for life-saving treatment, Palestinian media reported on Thursday.

Diab had been waiting for life-saving treatment abroad or in Israel ever since her kidney transplant surgery in Gaza failed.

Israel has informed Hamas’ deputy political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh, that it will not permit his three sisters to visit the Gaza Strip to attend his son’s wedding.

Haniyeh’s sisters, holders of Israeli citizenship, live in the Beduin town of Tel Sheva, a suburb of Beersheba.

IDF Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, who heads the office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), said it was his decision to refuse Haniyeh’s request.

Even as Gaza Strip-based terrorists continue to fire rockets at Israel, Palestinian children are receiving medical care at the Edith Wolfson Medical Center in the central Israeli city of Holon.

On Tuesday, as on every Tuesday for the past 18 years, children from Gaza and the West Bank arrived at the hospital for routine medical checks as part of the Israeli-based international humanitarian project Save a Child’s Heart, which provides life-saving medical care for children born with heart defects.

Peres grants humanitarian pardon to terminally ill Palestinian prisoner

President Shimon Peres approved Thursday the release of Palestinian security prisoner Mohammed al-Taj, in accordance with Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and the security echelon’s advice.

Hospitalized in a Prison Service medical facility, Al-Taj will be released due to medical reasons. Upon his release, he will be taken for further treatment in Ramallah, the Maan Palestinian news agency reported.

Al-Taj has served until now about two-thirds of his prison term. “The decision to release him was made for humanitarian reasons, since the prisoner is ill with a very serious disease,” said the president’s statement on the matter. Continue Reading »
