Minister Bennett: Israel prefers a diplomatic solution to nuclear Iran

 

 

In his speech in Washington, Economy Minister Bennett says he wishes Israel some day sign free trade deal with Iran, but expressed his opposition to the White House’s current outline of nuclear deal.

Economy Minister Naftali Bennett delivered a speech on Thursday to the Brookings Institution in Washington, saying that Israel was in great support of a diplomatic solution to the issue of nuclear Iran, seeing as “if Iran achieves a nuclear weapon, we will be their first target.”

He nevertheless added that if the Islamic republic indeed managed to achieve nuclear weapon, Israel “will not be their last target,” as the Iranians are capable of reaching Rome, Madrid, London and New York. Continue Reading »

Netanyahu has been lobbying against any agreement at talks due to resume in Geneva on November 20 that would fail to strip Iran of nuclear enrichment capabilities. He has urged no let-up in international economic sanctions.

He has often hinted at possible Israeli military action if diplomacy and sanctions failed to block what he says is Iran’s goal of building atomic weapons. Continue Reading »

Don’t say Israel can’t do it

 

 

The IDF has proved time & again, it can do the impossible; it can also do the unthinkable. Ultimately, Israel can’t trust anyone but itself.

Any deal, bad or somewhat bad, that’s ushered in by the White House won’t change one thing: The only one way to avoid a nuclear Iran, is to attack it.

Economy Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday called on the world to maintain economic pressure on Iran in the hopes that it would force the Islamic Republic to dismantle its entire nuclear program.

 

“Today is the time to stop a potential nuclear 9/11,” Bennett said in an interview with Fox News, responding to the stalemate in nuclear talks over the weekend in Geneva between Iran and the P5+1 world powers.

Bennett, a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, condemned a deal on the table in Geneva that supposedly calls for only a partial halt of Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.

Analysis: White House Pushing Bad Iran Deal, Abandoning Allies

US-based analysts from the Washington Institute commented that the White House is rushing a non-demanding Iran nuclear deal and turning its back on its closest allies.

Amid the ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, two senior Iranian MPs Saturday claimed French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius is defending Israel. The French FM has expressed concerns that Israel has raised over the proposals.

Fabius traveled to Geneva Friday where the talks between Iran and six world powers (P5+1) are being held.

He arrived the same day as US Secretary of State John Kerry, who made the trip to Geneva for three-way meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton. Continue Reading »

Iran may be 1 month from nuclear bomb


The time needed to convert enough uranium to weapon-grade so as to build a bomb, stands at between 1-1.6 months, & is shortening further, says new assessment by the U.S. Institute for Science and International Security.

According to the assessment, Iran’s weapons-grade uranium production capabilities are developed to a degree that its ‘breakout time’ – the time needed to convert enough uranium to weapon-grade so as to build a bomb – stands at between one and 1.6 months – and is shortening further. At least four people have been arrested in Iran for trying to sabotage a nuclear site, Iranian media reported Sunday.

The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, Ali Akbar Salehi, said officials had monitored and then arrested a “number of saboteurs” before they could carry out their plan.

Netanyahu admits he’d ‘consider’ taking phone-call from Rouhani

Netanyahu: “If I meet with these people I’d stick this question in their face: Are you prepared to dismantle your program completely?”

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. media he would not initiate contact with the new Iranian president, but would not turn down an overture out of hand.

“Yeah, we’re not the first to call,” Netanyahu told Piers Morgan, a CNN host who asked him in an interview broadcast Thursday if he would take a call from Hassan Rouhani.

Separately, Netanyahu told NPR in an interview broadcast Thursday that he would consider an offer to engage directly with Rouhani, but also suggested such engagement was beside the point.
