Jerusalem new Old City train station to be named after Donald Trump

Israel’s Transportation Minister says planned Old City train-station, named after US President Trump, will be an extension of the high-speed line from Tel Aviv to the capital, taking passengers almost directly to the Western Wall.
– Plans include construction of 1.8 mile-long tunnel beneath Jerusalem.

Israel is moving ahead with a rail project that will include a new station in the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem, transporting tourists to the Western Wall directly from Ben-Gurion Airport.

The station will apparently be named for U.S. President Donald Trump.

The plan means a new terminal for the current express line that links Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in 32 minutes. Continue Reading »

Transportation and Intelligence Minister Israel Katz unveiled an ambitious plan on Wednesday to give Jordan, Saudi Arabia and even Iraq access to the Mediterranean through Israel’s ports in Haifa and Ashdod, in a plan called “Tracks for Peace.”

After Transportation Minister Israel Katz angered many Israelis this week with his dismissive response to the demand for public transportation on Saturdays and holidays, citizens decided to fight back with a petition calling to bar ministers from using their government vehicles in days public transport does not run.
