181 new housing units approved for Jerusalem’s Gilo neighborhood

City of Jerusalem is set to approve the postponed construction plans of more than 181 housing units in Jerusalem’s southern neighborhood of Gilo, which has so far been postponed due to pressure from the Obama White House.

The city of Jerusalem will approve new construction projects in areas located beyond the “Green Line”, including 181 new housing units in the neighborhood of Gilo in the southern part of the city, Channel 2 News revealed on Wednesday.

Obama & Co. condemn Israel’s approval of West Bank Jewish home construction

 

The Obama administration issued a firm rebuke over additional Jewish housing in Samaria, condemning Jerusalem’s retroactive approval for existing homes and warning that Israel risked undermining “the prospects for a 2-state solution.”

Hours after Israel’s Civil Administration gave approval to 463 housing units in Samaria, the Obama administration issued a firm rebuke, condemning the move and warning that Israel risked undermining “the prospects for a two-state solution”.

NGO against road needed for additional 2,500 Jewish homes in Efrat

 

view videoPeace Now has warned that even though the land had been purchased by Jews before the creation of the state in 1948, the construction project “would have a devastating impact on the 2-state solution.”

 

The Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria is looking for land to build a road large enough to allow the Efrat settlement to grow by some 2,500 homes.

Continued work on the project “demonstrates the true path” of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, Peace Now stated.

Israeli Ministers okays 800 new homes for construction in greater Jerusalem area

 

The approval of 800 new homes in Jewish towns comes in the wake of the recent surge in Palestinian terrorist activity, but at a delicate time, since the recent Quartet report lambasted Jewish home-building in Judea & Samaria as, ‘undermining the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.’

An arrogant US administration questions Israel’s commitment to peace

Israel’s plans to build 2,610 homes in East Jerusalem are underway

The PA believe the area should be part of its future state, but Netanyahu insists that Israel has a right to build in its capital.

Plans are underway to build 2,610 new homes in a diplomatically sensitive area of east Jerusalem known as Givat Hamatos, which Palestinians believe should be part of their future state.
