VIDEO –In Houston, Texas, a group of dancing rabbis has set the world of top tier NBA basketball alight with a performance which is helping promote the image of Judaism far beyond the court.

This YouTube video has become a sensation: A group of Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis paring traditional Hora, Texas square dancing and even 1980s style break-dancing at a Houston Rockets basketball game.

Secular Kibbutz ‘Revolts’ by Dedicating New Torah Scroll – Mazel Tov!

 

Secular members of Kibbutz Givat Brenner dedicated a new Torah scroll on Tuesday.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Kibbutz Givat Brenner, the largest kibbutz in Israel and one of the most secular, completed the first step in a “revolution” Tuesday night with the dedication of a new Torah scroll that kibbutz members paid for from their own pockets.

The dedication of a new Torah scroll here is a major revolution, Givat Brenner Rabbi Ephraim Shteinkoller told Arutz Sheva.

In a gala event Thursday, President Shimon Peres, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin, opened the unique Jewish Tolerance Museum in Moscow, which will use displays, interactive activities, and the latest technologies to tell the story of the Jewish people throughout the ages.

The 8,500 square foot institution cost millions of dollars to build and develop, and is the first to tell the “inside story” of the Jewish experience. While Israel’s Diaspora Museum has many exhibits preserving the memory of Jewish communities around the world, the Tolerance Museum takes a more “personal” approach, telling the story of Jewish faith throughout the ages, the Creation of the world, the giving of the Torah, the Holy Temples, and Jewish suffering in the Exile. Using deceit, the Palestinians over the past several years have succeeded in convincing UNESCO that Rachel’s Tomb is actually a mosque built to commemorate the Prophet Mohammed’s first muezzin.

Historical documentation & hundreds of thousands of Jews who remain loyal to Rachel’s Tomb continue to hinder the Palestinian’s attempt into turning it into a Muslim site.

It is doubtful whether any other place between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River illustrates the concept of self-defense that has trickled into Israel’s security mindset as well as Rachel’s Tomb. The formerly picturesque site is engraved in the memory of many people as a stone building with a dome on top and an ancient olive tree in front of it, on the road between Jerusalem and Hebron.

Le Pen, leader of France’s National Front party: Ban Wearing a Kippah

French politician says,“Obviously, if the veil is banned, the kippa [should be] banned in public as well,”

French right-wing politician Marine Le Pen said she supports a ban on wearing kippot in public in addition to a ban on Muslim headscarves.

“Obviously, if the veil is banned, the kippa [should be] banned in public as well,” the French daily Le Monde quoted Le Pen, leader of the National Front, as saying in an interview published on Friday.

Le Pen’s anti-immigrant, anti-Islamist party long has supported a ban on Muslim headscarves, niqabs and burkas.
