After Israel ban, IPC rescinds 2019 Paralympic Games in Malaysia

The IPC president is seeking new venue host after stripping of honor to present the 2019 world sporting event in Malaysia, explaining, “When a host country excludes athletes from a particular nation, for political reasons, then we have absolutely no alternative but to look for a new Championships host.”

The Internationa Committee on Sunday stripped Malaysia of the right to host the 2019 world para swimming championships after the country banned Israeli athletes from participating.

Images released of Hamas rocket-designer’s assassins

Just like when the previous rocket designer for Hamas was assassinated, Gaza’s rulers finger the Mossad for assassinating fellow group member Fadi al-Batsh, in Malaysia.

Malaysian police on Monday released computer generated photographs of two men suspected of gunning down a Palestinian Hamas weapons engineer on Saturday in Kuala Lumpur.

Two men on a motorcycle fired at least 14 shots at Fadi al-Batsh, an engineering lecturer, but also a Hamas drones and rockets expert, killing him on the spot.

Police Chief Mohamad Fuzi Bin Harun did highlight Batsh’s international and Palestinian-related activities, seemingly de-emphasizing his identity as an average Malaysian resident of international origin. Continue Reading »

Malaysia probed, possibly charged after Israel unable to participate in sailing championships

 

Malaysian hosts told Israel its surfers would not compete under Israel’s state flag, would not be allowed to use any symbol identifiable with Israel on their surfboards or cloths, nor should Israel win a gold medal, its national anthem would not be played.

World Sailing announced on Sunday that it is holding an investigation and seeking clarification from the Malaysian Organizing Authority of the Youth Sailing World Championships after Israel was unable to send a delegation to the event in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Israel’s Yoav Omer and Noy Drihan will not have an opportunity to defend their titles at the championships, which got underway on Sunday, after the Israel Sailing Association (ISA) said last week that it will not be participating in the event due to the demands made by the organizers and the fact the surfers had yet to receive visas.
