On September 7, Al Jazeera reported that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas accused Hamas of “running a shadow government” and of committing war crimes like “undertaking executions without trial.” Moreover, Israeli-Arab journalist Khaled Abu Toameh, writing for The Gatestone Institute, reported that Fatah members had issued a strong letter against Hamas for “shooting dozens of their activists in the Gaza Strip in the legs and other parts of the body.” Continue Reading »

Gaza’s corrupt leaders and other Hamas officials now boast of having over 1,200 millionaires, after its 7 years of successful war profiteering, skimming and theft.

In 2006 legislative elections, the Palestinian street overwhelmingly voted Hamas to counter rampant financial corruption in the Palestinian Authority. Now, after years of war-profiteering, it seems Hamas itself has become the premier Palestinian millionaires’ club.

Very soon after seizing control of the Gaza Strip in 2007, Hamas and its allies began escalating rocket fire against the Jewish state. Given the severity of the Israeli reprisals, that wouldn’t seem very good for business.

Even as United States-sponsored peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians unravel, quiet negotiations over 1.4 billion shekels ($402 million) in unpaid electricity bills owed by the Palestinians are making progress.

Since 1994, the EU has provided certain representatives of the Palestinian people with financial support of nearly €5.6 billion.

Discounting Arab & American contributors to this scam, Europe gives the PA 40% ABOVE the annual budget of Sydney, Australia, a city of roughly the same population.

Exiled Fatah leader Mohammad Dahlan aspires to replace Abbas

 

Fatah officials deny rumors that ousted Dahlan is vying to replace Palestinian President, but Palestinian voters may welcome him.

Palestinians arrests former Hamas spokesman, confiscate property over alleged corruption


Hamas says former spokesman Ayman Taha, known in Gaza for his extravagant lifestyle, was not suspected of working with foreign powers such as Israel or Egypt.

 

 

Hamas, the Islamist movement ruling the Gaza Strip, announced that Ayman Taha, a senior member of the organization and former spokesman, was arrested several days ago and interrogated by the authorities for alleged corruption charges.

1 in 5 Gazans receiving EU salaries don’t actually work

European Court of Auditors, which ‘lost’ 1 billion euros ($1.3 billion) in Gaza, reported that at one place, out of 125 paid Palestinian employees, 90 weren’t working.

 

 

European Union auditors are recommending that the EU stop paying the salaries of Palestinian civil servants in Gaza who don’t work.
