Poll: Despite 25% Public Support for Iran Deal, Senators Ignore Constituents

A clear majority of Americans — 55% — oppose the nuclear deal with Iran, while only 25% support it, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll published this week.

The poll also found that 56% of Americans think the deal will make the world less safe, while only 28% think it will make the world safer.

Survey: Most Gazans dissatisfied with Hamas

Gaza residents are unhappy with Hamas regime and with its war with Israel last summer, a new Palestinian poll released Tuesday shows.

According to The Associated Press the poll by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research shows that 50 percent of Gaza residents want to emigrate, compared to 25 percent in the West Bank. Continue Reading »

Survey: Young Arabs Less Obsessed with Israel-Palestinian conflict than ever before

The 7th annual Arab youth survey has shown that common attitudes of the past decade are shifting drastically away from the Israel-Arab conflict.

A new survey of Arab youth promises to be the clearest insight yet into public attitudes in the Middle East today. The Seventh Annual ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller Arab Youth Survey found that young Arabs are opening up to new ideas and are changing their attitudes towards the West.

The pollsters questioned 3,500 Arabs between the ages of 18 and 24. The respondents came from 16 different countries and were split evenly between men and women. Continue Reading »

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll has found the American public’s support for a Palestinian state is at a 20-year low, as only 39% of Americans support the creation of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, while 36% oppose the notion. Some 25% of those polled said they had no opinion on the matter.

CNN poll stands alone: Majority of Americans against Netanyahu Congress speech

Contrary to earlier surveys conducted by YouGov/Huffington Post, a CNN poll finds majority of respondents think that without first having consulted with the White House, House Speaker Boehner should not have extended any invitation to Netanyahu to speak before Congress.

A majority of Americans think Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner should not have invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress without seeking approval of the White House, a CNN/ORC survey found on Wednesday, contrary to an earlier poll that reached the opposite conclusion.

In a survey of 1,027 adult Americans interviewed from February 12-15, 2015, 63 percent of respondents said it was a bad move for Republican congressional leaders to coordinate the speech without consulting with the Obama administration.

Survey: Europeans blame Israel & Hamas equally for Gaza violence

Despite considerable efforts at hasbara, Europeans believe Israel & Hamas share responsibility for the last round of violence, with 53% of Germans blaming Israel for escalation compared to only 39% in the UK.

Public opinion polls conducted by the Foreign Ministry in Europe’s three most important countries – the United Kingdom, Germany and France – reveal that its residents hold Israel and Hamas responsible in equal degree for the latest bout of violence in the Gaza Strip.

Poll: 24% of Israeli Jews boycott Arab businesses

Globes reported that latest survey finds 51% of respondents would boycott businesses that employ people who criticize the IDF.

 

Nearly a quarter of Israeli Jewish consumers are boycotting Arab businesses, a poll released on Tuesday found.

Some 24 percent of respondents said they refuse to patron Arab shops, down from 47 percent during a similar Geocartography poll conducted during the Gaza war, Globes reported.

However, the figures should be taken with a grain of salt: According to the poll, only 29 percent of respondents said they did in fact boycott Arab businesses during the war, meaning that 18 percent out of the 47 percent polled during the hostilities between Israel and the Palestinian factions in Gaza did not abide by their professed convictions.

The new leader of the Israeli right and greatest threat to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership is Bayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home) party head Naftali Bennett, according to a poll released Monday by Panel Politics on behalf of the Knesset Channel.

The poll asked who best illustrates the beliefs of the right-wing, allowing respondents to select from between Netanyahu, Bennett and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

Palestinian Poll: 77% of Gazans say Israel ‘painfully beaten’ by Hamas

 

 

The survey of Gazans also showed that over 70% of the Palestinians polled are worried of another, future military confrontation with Israel.

An overwhelming majority of Palestinians (77%) believes that Israel has been “painfully beaten” by Hamas, a public opinion poll published on Monday in the West Bank showed.

Pew Survey Poll: American support for Israel at near record highs

Survey demonstrates massive American support for Israel.

U.S. Hispanics & Blacks sympathize with Israel more than twice as much as with Palestinians.

 

The US public’s support for Israel is at near-record levels, according to a Pew Research Center poll, despite the current violence and images of the destruction in the Gaza Strip playing out nightly on television screens across America.

Furthermore, the poll – carried out from July 8 to July 14 – indicates that support for Israel among blacks and Hispanics – demographic groups to which Israeli advocacy groups are increasingly reaching out – is more than double what it is for the Palestinians.

Poll: 60% of Palestinians reject 2-state solution – 67% reject violence

 

Washington Institute survey reveals most Palestinians apparently do seek to ‘reclaim all of historic Palestine’, but they do not support calls for violent measures to realize such goals.

Some 60 percent of Palestinians reject the idea of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict, according to a new poll, and instead support a five-year plan to “work toward reclaiming all of historic Palestine, from the river to the sea.” However, a clear majority do not support the use of violence to achieve their goals.

Really, was there any doubt? Israel Ranked Best Country for Women in Mid-East

World Economic Forum poll that ranks 110 countries, puts Israel way ahead of its Muslim neighbors in terms of women’s basic rights & freedoms.

Israel is the best country in the Middle East for women’s rights and freedoms, the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap survey concluded this week.

The survey, which has been conducted since 2006, ranks 110 countries in terms of gender equality and inequality, using a variety of factors including demographic data, socioeconomic figures, and a close look at women in the legal system.

In 2013, Israel ranked #53 for women’s rights worldwide – up two places since 2012 – but top for the Middle East overall. Continue Reading »
