Meet today’s hero in uniform: Maj. ‘A’, Israel Air Force’s first Druze combat navigator

Maj. A. wanted to join the Israeli Navy’s illustrious ‘Shayetet 13’ frogmen unit, but found himself on the way to Air Force Flight Academy instead, while his fellow Druze friends took on other senior combat roles.

Israel’s Naval Commando Unit, ‘Shayetet 13’, Receives Special Citation for its Covert Ops

 

Soldiers from Shayetet 13, Israel’s elite naval commando unit, were awarded a citation on Monday for a run of successfully covert missions, mostly deep inside enemy territory.

Israel Navy Commandos Enter Gaza & Successfully Destroy Long-Range Rocket Site

Four special-unit soldiers with light injuries were evacuated to hospital for treatment.

Over a 100 Gaza rockets fired over weekend.

 

 

Israel Navy commandos raided a facility from which Hamas fired many long-range rocket at Israeli cities, the IDF said early Sunday. During the raid, the commandos were shot at by Hamas gunmen, and returned fire. “The facility was hit and damaged,” the army said.

Four commandos sustained light injuries during the special operation. They have been evacuated to a hospital in Israel.

Earlier on Saturday night, two rockets were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel and landed in open areas north of Nahariya. Continue Reading »

PM Netanyahu praises Israel’s  naval commando unit, Shayetet 13 : “You have, & we will continue to provide you with all the advanced equipment, but the most advanced item we have, is you. … On behalf of the entire nation, I salute you.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the newest members of the Israeli Navy’s Flotilla 13 commando unit at their graduation ceremony on Wednesday.

Netanyahu praised the unit for its recent seizure of the Klos C ship, which was carrying weapons from Iran to Gaza.
