Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday used his speech at the UN General Assembly to attack Israel, as he has done in past speeches as well.

In his remarks, Abbas claimed that Israel is evading its responsibility to end its “occupation of Palestine”.

“While we call to end the occupation, Israel incites and pretends there’s no Palestinian partner for peace,” Abbas charged, ignoring the fact that he has continuously rejected invitations from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to sit down for direct talks. Continue Reading »

NEW YORK – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to come “speak to the Israeli people at the Knesset in Jerusalem,” during his speech to the United Nations  in New York on Thursday,

In return, he offered to “gladly come to speak peace with the Palestinian parliament in Ramallah.”

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman flew to the Austrian capital of Vienna on Friday to meet with Israel’s ambassadors to European Union countries to discuss the Palestinian Authority’s plan to imminently seek an upgrade of its U.N. status to that of an “observer state.”
