Nikki Haley resigned Tuesday as the US ambassador to the United Nations, in the latest departure from President Donald Trump’s national security team.

Meeting Haley in the Oval Office, Trump said that Haley had done a “fantastic job” and that he would “miss her”, confirming that she would leave her post at the end of the year.

UNRWA evacuates senior Gaza officials to Israel for their safety

United Nations transfers 10 of its int’l [non-Palestinian] employees of UNRWA to Israel on Monday, to protect them from Gaza’s local staff [terrorists?] following threats and violent acts of harassment, since US fund cuts have led to subsequent layoff plans.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) had evacuated 10 of its international senior employees from Gaza to Israel on Monday, after they were threatened and harassed by UNRWA’s disgruntled local Palestinian staff following the agency’s announcement to cut more than 250 jobs.

The agency’s senior officials were rescued and transferred to Israeli territory via the Erez crossing—which remained closed throughout the Jewish holidays but was re-opened by the Israeli security officials following an official request from UNRWA. Continue Reading »

UNRWA, the body responsible for Palestinian refugees, needs reforms if the Trump administration is to fully support it, US Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley said on Tuesday.

Haley, who spoke at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies summit in Washington, further accused the Palestinian Authority of “bashing” the US while expecting Washington to support Palestinians financially.

On Friday, the US State Department announced it will slash over $200 million in economic aid to the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank, which caused the Palestinian Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, to condemn the move in an official statement on Tuesday. US Ambassador Nikki Haley lashed out at Hamas Thursday, accusing the Palestinian movement of “using children as cannon fodder,” after dozens of people were shot dead by Israeli troops during weeks of clashes in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces have killed 41 Palestinians, including two journalists and several children, since the protests began on March 30 near the Gaza-Israeli border fence.

Guatemala Court rejects attempt to prevent gov’t from moving embassy to Jerusalem

The Trump White House was none too impressed by the Palestinian leadership’s temper tantrum following the president’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

And the Americans were downright scornful after the Palestinians then went crying to Europe and attempted to eject Trump from the Middle East peace process.
