WATCH U.S. envoy to the UN Nikki Haley tells Security Council, “The incredibly destructive nature of Iranian and Hezbollah activities throughout the Middle East demands much more of our attention. It should become this council’s priority in the region,” instead of engaging in what she called “routine Israel-bashing.”

To the committee’s chairman, Israel’s Ambassador to UNESCO said, “this is the garbage” as he pointed to the trash can. Then he held up a piece of paper and said, “this is the resolution, and this is the place for it” as he dropped it into the garbage-can.
In a piece of diplomatic theatrics, Israel’s Ambassador to UNESCO Carmel Shama-Hacohen on Wednesday threw a copy of the Jerusalem resolution into a trash bin right after it was approved by the World Heritage Committee in Paris.
In attacking WHC’s approval of a text that ignored Jewish ties to the Temple Mount, he equated the Jerusalem resolution with the famous 1975 United Nations resolution that Zionism equals racism, “The fate of this resolution shall be no different than that of UN resolution 3379 adopted in 1975, which equated Zionism with racism. In the last two months the UN’s special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Makarim Wibisono, has not issued any statement condemning terror attacks that killed Israelis in recent months, including the one in the Har Nof neighborhood in which four rabbis and a policeman were killed.
When the IDF attacked Hamas military targets, including targets that had multiple uses, it was publicly condemned by the same Arab states that are participating in the U.S.-Arab attacks on duel purpose targets in Syria.
The air attack by American and Arab forces against ISIS and other terrorist targets parallels Israel’s air attacks against Hamas terrorist targets in Gaza. According to retired General Wesley Clark, the United States air attacks are designed to degrade and destroy the infrastructure of the terrorist groups, including the electric grid, the sources of their finance and other mixed military-civilian targets.
