UN Human Rights Chief: IDF guilty of “disproportionate force” in protecting Israel

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said in a speech on global inequity at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, that Israel may have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity against Hamas-led protests on the Gaza border.

UN: IDF ignoring repeated warnings to end lethal force on Gaza border

Jordanian Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights condemns Israel for the IDF’s use of ‘live-fire’ against Gaza’s civilian protesters, and calls for the soldiers to be “held accountable.”

The UN rights chief on Friday urged Israeli forces to stop using force to prevent Arab rioters from charging Israel’s security fence, and demanded that Israeli troops who do use force to defend the border “be held accountable.”

Israel has no expectations of unbiased judgements from Jordanian Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

UN Commissioner for Human Rights sends 150 letters: ‘Stop, or be Blacklisted’

UN Human Rights chief sent 150 letters threatening firms reportedly including Caterpillar, Airbnb, Tripadvisor and others  to immediately end doing business in Jewish settlements, or they will find themselves on an official UN blacklist of companies that are in violation of “internal law and UN decisions.”

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has sent letters to 150 global and Israeli firms warning they will be added to a UN blacklist if they do not cease doing business in Jewish settlements in the West Bank, Haaretz newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed Israeli and Western officials.

The UN Human Rights Council voted in 2016 to compile the list, prompting an outcry in Israel, which claims that the Council is stacked against the Jewish state. Continue Reading »
