At Davos Netanyahu proposes to int’l community ‘new model’ for peace with Palestinians

With the majority of both Israelis and Arabs rejecting the ‘2-state solution,’  PM Netanyahu suggested to the World Economic Forum in Davos a ‘new model’ for peace with the Palestinians, with Israel maintaining security control of the region, but allowing the Arabs to govern themselves.
– Netanyahu asserted: ‘There’s no substitute for the US’ as mediator.’

Israel’s prime minister is suggesting a “new model” for peace with the Palestinians that would allow them to govern themselves but maintain Israeli control over security.

Speaking at a discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday, Benjamin Netanyahu declined to endorse a “two-state solution” favored by the Palestinians and most of the international community. Continue Reading »

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Wednesday–day three of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland–with world leaders in a series of diplomatic meetings that included German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Netanyahu reiterated to Merkel the need to make “real – not cosmetic – changes that will prevent Iran from going nuclear which would otherwise be assured by the agreement as it stands,” a government press release stated.

PM Netanyahu Advances Israel-China Alliance in Davos

In a fruitful meeting with the Chinese FM at the World Economic Forum, Netanyahu urged deeper cooperation.


The Chinese FM relayed to Netanyahu that his country has held 5 joint committee meetings last month on Israel.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The two discussed the budding alliance between the nations, which has developed rapidly since Wang’s first visit to Israel last December.

Netanyahu commented that the meeting expressed the advanced state of relations between the two nations, adding that Israel wants to further develop bilateral cooperation in technology and foreign affairs. Continue Reading »
