During the Gaza war this summer, it became clear that one of the most important aspects of the media-saturated conflict between Jews and Arabs is also the least covered: the press itself. The Western press has become less an observer of this conflict than an actor in it, a role with consequences for the millions of people trying to comprehend current events, including policymakers who depend on journalistic accounts to understand a region where they consistently seek, and fail, to productively intervene.

Uruguay’s newly elected president has ties to Israel & Jewish community

Tabare Vazquez, of the ruling leftist coalition, was confirmed as Uruguay’s next president Monday with 53.6% of the vote in the 2nd round of national elections.

JTA – Uruguay elected a president who has twice traveled to Israel and who has an open dialogue with the country’s Jewish community.

The ruling leftist coalition candidate, Tabare Vazquez, was confirmed as president Monday with 53.6 percent of the vote in the second round of national elections, beating rightist Luis Lacallae Pou who garnered 41.1 percent of the vote.

Watch: Stabbing Attack in Samaria by Female Fatah Terrorist

One wounded, as soldier attacked by knife wielding female terrorist.

A few hours after the stabbing attack in Samaria, the terrorist was shot while fleeing IDF soldiers.

A female Arab terrorist arrived at Gush Etzion Junction in Judea on Monday morning and tried to stab an IDF soldier, in an attack in which one person was lightly wounded according to Magen David Adom (MDA) reports.

The terrorist tried to flee the scene according to reports, evidently after the soldier managed to fight her off, but IDF soldiers on patrol who were active in the area shot her and wounded her critically. Continue Reading »

Hamas called on Abbas to stop spreading lies – quits unity government

Hamas leadership rejects Abbas’ claim that they colluded with Israel & declares unity government agreement has expired.

Hamas announced on Sunday that the unity government established with Fatah over the summer has ended.

The unity government’s six-month term has expired, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said at a press conference in Gaza City, adding that talks would take place regarding a future government, Palestinian News Agency Ma’an reported.

Hamas “isn’t interested in incitement, but rather seeks to maintain national unity,” he said. Continue Reading »
