As the debate continues over Iran’s nuclear program and a possible Israeli strike on its nuclear facilities, Strategic Affair Minister Moshe Ya’alon on Thursday placed the responsibility on the United States if the Islamic Republic realizes its nuclear ambitions.

“History will judge whether the United States stood in the face of the Shiite threat and prevented the Iranian military nuclear capability in time,” Ya’alon said during a forum at the Gordon College of Education in Haifa. “A Middle East with a nuclear Iran is a Middle East with nuclear chaos.”

The IAF marked the conclusion of training for its latest class of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operators in a graduation ceremony Wednesday (August 15), the IDF Website’s Yair Barzilai reported.

Dozens of new officers were inducted into the UAV Formation, following the conclusion of the 20th UAV training course. With hundreds of family members in attendance, the festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the arrival of IAF Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel.

Mohammed Jamal Arfa, a senior Egyptian journalist linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, has launched a frontal attack on Israel following its demand that Egypt withdraw armored vehicles it recently deployed in the Sinai Peninsula.

In an article in the mouthpiece of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice party, Arfa wrote that Israel is the one that demanded that former president Hosni Mubarak and his Head of Intelligence, Omar Suleiman, deploy large forces in Sinai to fight the terror organizations there. Yet now that President Mohammed Morsi is doing just that, he accused, Israel claims Egypt is breaching the Camp David peace accords and is concerned it will not withdraw the forces. Former MLB player Brad Ausmus has signed on as coach & retired players  Gabe Kapler &  Shawn Green have agreed to assist as coaches & players for Team Israel.

Chicago White Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis said he will play for Israel at the World Baseball Classic.

Youkilis told Israel Sports Radio Wednesday that he would play for Team Israel if he is healthy. This season, the three-time All Star is hitting .241 with 15 home runs and 47 runs batted in. He has been hampered by injuries for much of the past three seasons.

Debka, staffed by former journalists and former intelligence personnel, said that the Palestinian Authority arrested this past Sunday two Hamas agents of the terrorist’ organization’s military branch who infiltrated into the elite hand-picked security force that guards Abbas.

Pretoria refuses to label territories’ goods as Israeli

South Africa approves plan requiring special labels for Israeli products “emanating from Israel Occupied Territories” (IOT)

 

The South African cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan to require special labels on products coming from the settlements so that they do not read “Made in Israel.”

The government’s approval comes some three months after the plan was first made public, and despite a flood of protest from South African Jews and other pro-Israel supporters in the country.

First German Rabbi faces criminal charges over anti-circumcision ruling

A German rabbi has been criminally charged for performing a circumcision, committing what the indictment calls “bodily harm,” media outlets reported on Tuesday.

The lawsuit against David Goldberg, who is a mohel and the Rabbi of the city of Hof Saale in Bavaria, is the first known case following the anti-circumcision ruling issued by a German court in May.

According to media reports, the charges were filed by a physician from the city of Hessen, and was based on the court ruling which stated that performing a religious circumcision ritual can be considered a crime. Continue Reading »
