Syrian media: Israel assassinated senior Hezbollah commander

According to a Syrian media report, an Israeli drone destroyed the car a Hezbollah leader, Imad at-Tawil was driving, as he was surveying the Syrian side of the Golan Heights bordering Israel.

An Israeli drone assassinated a senior Hezbollah operative on Thursday, Arab media reported.

According to the reports, the official is Imad at-Tawil.

The Jordan-based outlet Al-Hadath reported that Tawil was in charge of creating an Iranian-backed terrorist network on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, presumably in order to make that area a theater of operation against Israel. Continue Reading »

German parliamentary members block billion-dollar drone deal with Israel

A billion-dollar deal which would have seen Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) leasing Heron-2 drones to the German Air Force was scrapped Wednesday from the German agenda amid objections by coalition parties opposed to their offensive capabilities.

The Israeli Defense Forces on Thursday launched a patriot missile at an unmanned aircraft (UAV) from Syria nearing the Israeli border, violating Israeli airspace.

“The IDF will not allow any breach of Israel’s airspace and will act against any attempt of infiltration,” said the IDF in a statement.

Israeli firm first to be granted license to fly a fully automated drone

Manufactored by an Israeli drone maker, the 7.5 kg quadcopter, called Optimus, is capable of carrying a one kilogram payload at a speed of 36 kilometres per hour for 30 minutes with no human operator.

Arab media reports commander in Syria’s air defense force killed by Israeli drone

 

IDF silent as conflicting reports are emanating from the Arab media identifying the man killed near the Israeli border on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights as a “terrorist” while other reports describe Yasser al-Sayyed as a civilian.

Syrian media reported on Sunday that an Israeli drone had struck a car in the Quneitra countryside, killing the driver named as Yasser al-Sayed. There were conflicting reports about the identity of the man killed, with some labeling him a “terrorist” and others describing him as a civilian.

IDF failed to destroy Russian drone that invaded Israeli airspace

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin informed PM Netanyahu that the UAV which accidentally entered Israeli airspace was Russian, not Hezbollah’s or Syrian.

A drone which penetrated Israeli airspace three weeks ago was Russian, not Syrian, as initially believed, Haaretz reported on Sunday.

In mid-July, three weeks ago to the day, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crossed into Israeli airspace over the Golan Heights from the Syrian frontier, and managed to fly some 2.5 miles (4 km) into Israeli airspace before turning back.
